I was there with a friend to attend a conference at the University. It's in an excellent location, right in the middle of Old Town, next to the University of Zadar and right on the waterfront. There are no seaviews but you get a lovely view over the town and since it's on the 5th floor (!!!), you can see for a distance. It's a really safe area, the beds are super comfortable and it's nice and clean, with a female-only dorm available and separate bathroom facilities for men and women. There are also large lockers available and high-speed internet. It's excellent value for money and the girls at the reception are really nice and helpful and they have maps to help you navigate your way around.

Downsides:
- Be prepared to drag your luggage up the stairs as there is no lift - this was a surprise to us and a bit painful to begin with.
- If you're there for a weekend stay, be aware that some noise from the street does carry up to the rooms on Friday and Saturday nights as there are several bars and restaurants in the area.

Stayed one night here, great location, just off the waterfront and near the old town. stayed in a 6 bed female dormitory which was spotless, comfy beds, the bathroom and kitchen were really clean. The building it is in is old style, its on the top floor so five flights of stairs but that shouldnt out you off. someone mentioned there is no lights but there is a timed switch just at the bottom of the stairs at ground level that stays on until you get up. would definitely stay here again, ask for Hotel Zagreb if you are getting a taxi as this was what it was called. big lockers in each room too.

This hostel is in a quiet, safe apartment block just one street back from the Riva in Zadar. It's really convenient for all the sights of the Old Town and a few minutes walk from Zadar's beach area. Once you manage to climb the five flights of stairs ( I did it with a rucksack and small case!) you get a great view over Zadar's red roofs. The hostel was clean, with two large communal bathrooms, another separate loo and a kitchen. There were three dorms - I was in the women only dorm. There was no air conditioning and it was unbearably hot at night. We left the window open which meant you could hear the noise from the bars late into the night - good if you're there, not so good if you're trying to sleep!
The two staff members were friendly and helpful, gave advice on trips and transport. My roommates, however, barely spoke a word all the time I was there but whispered to each other. Maybe their mum hadn't told them it was rude to whisper!
Recommended!

On the 5th (UK) floor and no lift, so not for those with suitcases. No lights at night in the stairwell until almost at the top. In a residential building, very safe.
Small with comfortable beds. Very clean. Large kitchen and fridge, full cooking possibilities. Large lockers. Internet is fast.
Two showers with dubious shower curtains. Use the left shower to be sure you are covered, although I actually had no problem with the right shower either. Uni-sex bathrooms. Computer access as well as wifi.
The girl worls only 6-8pm and a few hours in the morning. She’s shy but very helpful. She leaves a letter for you with the keys if you arrive when she’s not in. At the main door press the third button down on the left to open the doors if they are locked, and the key is under the mat at night for the hostel door.
One thing – the street is actually an extension of . It is not marked on Lonely Planet maps and the taxi drivers don’t know it either, but if you walk along to the end furthest out of town the hostel itself is clearly marked.
Noisy seagulls at night, but would consider staying here again.
