“Fantastic Hostel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

This is by far the best hostel I have stayed in! We booked a four bed dorm with a private bathroom. Each bed has its own set of blinds (which allows total privacy should you not know the people you are sharing with), mini light, mirror and shelf. Under each bunk is a lockable drawer accessed using your electronic room key which is very clever! The rooms are bright and clean and the bathrooms are well designed with the toilet and shower room separated; I can't comment on the shared facilities as I never saw them. The kitchen is very pleasant and there is a nice terrace outside for some al fresco drinks. The only negative of the hostel (and a minor one at that) is that most of the rooms face out onto the main square and are therefore right next to the bell tower which chimes on the hour. It is very loud but adds to the atmosphere- it bothered my travelling companions more than me! This is the only reason that I have rated 'sleep quality' down a bit. Zadar is a fab place for a short break away, the central location of the hostel is so convenient and the bus to the airport stops just outside the city gate a five minute walk away. Breakfast is provided in bags that are delivered to your dorm each morning and the rooms also have air conditioning and free wifi. Basically you couldn't ask for anything more; it is practically perfect! Thank you Boutique Hostel Forum! x

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper avoid the rooms overlooking the main square as the bell tower chimes very...

Dear Guest,
thank you very much for your great review of our place. You described our hostel so detailed and lovely that we could easily as that use your text in our brochures. Only thing we will try to do, is to ask a belltower to quite down a little bit in the morning. :)
It is very nice to hear that you are completely satisfied with your stay in hostel. Reviews like yours keep us going with good work!
Thank you for being our guest and making us feel GOOD. We hope we'll see you once again.

Very neat and clean hostel right at the forum in the heart of the old city. I loved it! My friend and I stayed here in the Forum Lux room recently and would recommend it

Pros
Central location
Contemporary
Clean
Free wi-fi
Healthy breakfast
Friendly, helpful staff

Cons
No lift, so if you can't climb stairs either book a room on lower floor or not stay here
Rooms are quite small (it wasn't a problem for us)
No frills - no gym, pool, etc. (which again, was not an issue for us)
You can hear people on the streets and the bell tower in your room; which may be a disturbance for some

The hostel has an arrangement with a cab company. If you need a cab to/from the airport you can arrange one through the hostel for a fixed rate.

Dear Guest,

thank you for your review. We hope once we will have the elevator, but until than, we always love to rely on our colleague with muscles that can help with luggage on check in or check out. :)
We also hope we will see you once again, this time with elevator in our hostel.

The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area. The room was compact but functional, and very comfortable. The beds had lockable storage underneath that was accessed with your room card key - great idea! The facilities included a 'cinema room' with amphitheater style seating, two tv's and a projector with access to a range of DVD's. The kitchen was small but tea and coffee were available 24/7.
10 / 15 minute walk from the bus station, 2 - 3 min walk to the sea, 1 min walk to nearest bars and restaurants and the old town.
Breakfast was brought to the room and left in a boutique bag so you can actually have breakfast in bed!!
Awesome and very recommended.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for taking your time to review your stay in our hostel. It is nice to hear you loved our „style“ of bringing a mini Breakfast ToGo into your room as well as other facilities. We're inviting you to come here again during the summer, so we can discover you our outside terrace and waffle's parties, pancake's parties… :) Thank you once again for being our guest.

This *is* THE place to stay in Zadar. If you're looking for a city break. Right on the main street in the old town, overlooking the Roman forum and with views of St. Donat and sea.
The room and bathroom are small, but exceptionally functional. The walls are actually mirrors with storage compartments behind them which adds to the functionality and totally changes the appearance of the room. There is a TV set, fridge and a safe.
Breakfast was fairly good. Staff are nice and helpful.
For a hostel, it's a bit on the expensive side, but if you can afford it then definitely go for it!
It can be a bit noisy, but that's the price of staying in the heart of the place.

Room Tip: The review is for a double room, no idea what the other rooms are like.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your opinion. We are more than happy to hear you enjoyed your stay at our hostel. Also, we are glad you found out that walls hide storage compartments, as some guests leave the place with that part undiscovered. We are thinking about creating a manual “how to use the room with mirrors” but in your case, no need.
We can promise you, next time you come here, that you will go with us on a short tour, to see all the room types. We are sure you will love it and off course, discover all the secrets that each room hides.
Thank you for being our guest and discovering the way to stay in Zadar at our hostel. Hope we’ll see you again sometime.

As a writer I am difficult to please, and am rarely impressed with much. This place had me reaching for the laptop mere minutes into our stay. Like other reviews I could reference the decor, which seemed pseudo-sci-fi, but that might take away from the overall impact. In fact I find myself struggling for words with which to laud this place.
Central, easy to locate, and so close to everything you need. I know I'll be back before I've even put the lights out on my first night here.

This hostel has a great location and view of the sea and Roman forum, right in the centre of the old town with all the sights in walking distance. Prices are very acceptable. The staff are nice and helpful. We stayed in a 4-beds room. It was very clean, although quite small and a bit claustrophobic (despite the big window), especially the beds which are basically walled up. If you are a light sleeper, be sure to bring earplugs because the church tower strikes until late at night and from early morning. Breakfast was included in the price and was delivered in paper bags in front of our room door.
I would definitely recommend this hostel.
