“Fantastic place to say”

We stayed 4 nights at Villa Ivana and were sorry to go. Everything was so great: views on the old town, the Adriatic, the beach, our cosy and confortable room with the balcony overlooking the sea, delicious breakfast and hosts that were friendly and very helpful. The Old Town is a pleasant 40 minute walk or you can take the local bus (number 5 or 8) - bus stop is a short walk from Villa Ivana. Strongly recommend staying at Villa Ivana.

We stayed at Villa Ivana for 5 nights at the start of our Croatian holiday and our only disappointment was that there was no availability for the last few nights of our trip (our trip was split in 3 parts), but can see now why it is so popular.

The hosts were so friendly and helpful that we felt part of the family!. They provided information on taxis, car rental, excursions, and restaurants etc, all of which were spot on. We even had a taxi waiting for us at the airport for collection.

The twin room (studio) was spacious, modern and very clean, with a large balcony overlooking the sea. Air-con in the room for hot nights. WIFI worked in the room (and sometimes even on the beach!). Breakfast was included in the price and served in a nice room across a small courtyard. There is also a roof top terrace with tables and chairs which were great for looking out over the sea toward the old town.

There are restaurants (Niko) and bars (Yachting & Bamboo) within a few minutes walk away.
The apartments have beach loungers for guest use on the stony beach directly across the road.
(The road outside the apartments is not a thru road so there was no noise and very little traffic at night)

To the old town… the bus Stop is less than 5min walk away, 16kuna return. A taxi into town was 40-50kuna depending on the taxi firm.

Highly recommend these apartments, and would definitely consider them top of the list if I ever return to Zadar.

Villa Ivana was great. In particular the family that run it are excellent hosts. They gave us great tips and ideas about good locations to visit, restaurants, practicalities of getting to the old town and were very genuine. Our apartment was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Highly recommended as the best place we stayed in Croatia.

Room Tip: Choose a sea view.

Villa Ivana was the perfect place for our 3-night stay in Zadar. The views of the Adriatic from our spacious balcony were breathtaking. The hosts and their children were so friendly and accommodating. All of their suggestions (taxi drivers, boat excursions, restaurants, local attractions) were spot-on and helped make our vacation exciting and memorable. The breakfast was delicious and our room and bathroom were impeccably clean. Whether your stay in Zadar is long or short, I highly recommend Villa Ivana!

We are half way through a 6 week trip and this has been the loveliest place to stay, better than a 5 star in Dubrovnik that we stayed in. We felt instantly welcomed and very well looked after. Nothing is too much trouble from helping out with washing to phoning a national park for weather conditions!
The room at the top was amazing; brilliant views and very quiet at night. Looking across to the old town from our balcony was really great.
Can't recommend Villa Ivana enough, if we ever make it back to Croatia we would head straight here. The villa is perfectly placed for some of the best scenery also.
Breakfast is included and there is lots of food, so much choice.
We had a fantastic 6 day stay with Villa Ivana. Thank you!

Having visited all the major country locations around the Mediterranean our stay at the Villa Ivana passed all expectations. The hospitality was generous, relaxed, and never intrusive. The location and facility of the Villa were perfect if what you like is doorstep access to good food and the cleanest and freshest of ocean swimming. The views over the sea towards the old town of Zadar make you feel in touch with local life and the working heart of the town, but they never encroach on your pleasure. In the early evening the beach fills up with local young families enjoying the water but the stretch outside the villa is never crowded. The villa provides sunbeds, mats, and parasols, so you can make your own shade and camp as you like. The street can get a little busy with local traffic in early evening, but this does not last for long as locals are parking to swim.
For the old town there is a 25 minute walk following the waterside all the way, and you should take the small ferry boat run by a single oarsman. He knows when to let the big ferries pass first, so do not panic. If your feet run out of steam then you can take one of two buses easily, and there are plentiful and metered taxis always available. We visited the old town most evenings, and sometimes took a late swim on our return to the villa.
Many things set Croatia apart from other destinations, other than the warmth of the Villa Ivana welcome. For us these included the value for money in eating out, the lack of nasty insects, which can really undermine sunshine and pleasure, and the ease of taking a ferry from Zadar to one of the neighbouring islands. We hired a scooter and went to visit Long Island, which made for an exciting and full day out. Who knows how long Croatia will maintain its distance from others, but in our opinion it has the lead today, and the Villa sets a great example.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at Villa Ivana and it was awesome! Perfect spot across from the beach, beautiful 30 min walk to the old town, lovely restaurants around the corner, apartments are wonderful and there is alot of space and finally the owners are super friendly and very helpful. I will be back to stay here next time i am in Zadar.

Room Tip: Ask for ocean view room.
