This boutique hotel is situated in the old town and cleverly incorporates one of the bastions of the old walls. All the sights of the old town are within easy walking distance. However, the first room we were given looked out over the rundown neighbouring building and the rubbish bins belonging to a neighbouring bar and it was very noisy. We had to insist quite firmly before we were
moved the following night to a seafront room. Both rooms, although not large, were attractively decorated and well appointed but we felt it was wrong to charge the same price for the noisy room with no view. We found the food in the Kastel Restaurant was excellent, some of the best we have found in Croatia. We ate outside on the little terrace on the actual bastion which is raised and has a lovely view over the water towards the newer part of town.

Nice hotel, centrally located in Zadar, near Sea Organ and in old town. The staff was extremely friendly, they were fantastic. Lovely bedrooms, very confortable and clean. Good breakfast.
Hotel a little more expensive but still good value.
Not good wifi internet, it doesn't work adequately in room.

We flew in with a smal airplane to Zadar and had no hotel yet. The Airport guys did recomand this hotel and for 100€ per Single room the price was ok incl. breakfast. Very warm welcome, very nice rooms, modern bathroom. According Taxidriver the hotel has 5* quality but no pool (but the adria just in front) that's why it has only 4*. Breakfast served very nicely again also very friendly staff. Just behind the hotel the old city of Zadar starts with all the Restaurants and well renovated streets. Would recomand the Hotel anytime.

Room Tip: With open windows the rooms to the front street might wake you up early.

We stayed at the Hotel Bastion for one night October 5th September . The hotel is delightful.
Room was not large but beautifully appointed. The bathroom ammenities were lovely.
the situation of the hotel is great, with a short walking distance to all the the Old Town of Zadar offers. The front desk staff were fantastic. Very friendly and helpful, with perfect English.
Parking was outside the hotel, within a chained area. Breakfast buffet was excellent, our only slight problem, was arriving at breakfast at the time a largish tour were leaving, leaving behind a rather delpeted buffet. The waitress was on her own and was trying to clear tables as well as replenish buffet. I must add that she juggled all duties in a pleasant and effecient manner.

Room Tip: If staying on a Friday or Saturday night, ask for a room away from Nightclub

My sister, cousin, and I stayed at Hotel Bastion for one night October 10-11. We were very pleased with our stay! The front desk staff was friendly, helpful, and spoke fluent English. My sister and I shared a double room that was well appointed, comfortable, and had a very nice marble bathroom. The WiFi Internet access was good throughout the hotel. Hotel Bastion is located a short walk outside of the heart of Old Town Zadar, overlooking the Jadrolinja ferry dock, which made for a good and quiet night's sleep. It was a short walk from the hotel to the Sea Organ and the Monument to the Sun (both well worth visiting), as well as the rest of the waterfront. At the end of the evening, we enjoyed a nightcap in the hotel's lobby bar. Breakfast in the morning was a plentiful buffet, including the only American-style drip coffee we experienced in all of Croatia, and eggs made to order. The hotel was a bit pricier than most of the other places we stayed, but it was a good value. Recommended...we would stay there again!
