My sister, cousin, and I stayed at Hotel Bastion for one night October 10-11. We were very pleased with our stay! The front desk staff was friendly, helpful, and spoke fluent English. My sister and I shared a double room that was well appointed, comfortable, and had a very nice marble bathroom. The WiFi Internet access was good throughout the hotel. Hotel Bastion is located a short walk outside of the heart of Old Town Zadar, overlooking the Jadrolinja ferry dock, which made for a good and quiet night's sleep. It was a short walk from the hotel to the Sea Organ and the Monument to the Sun (both well worth visiting), as well as the rest of the waterfront. At the end of the evening, we enjoyed a nightcap in the hotel's lobby bar. Breakfast in the morning was a plentiful buffet, including the only American-style drip coffee we experienced in all of Croatia, and eggs made to order. The hotel was a bit pricier than most of the other places we stayed, but it was a good value. Recommended...we would stay there again!

Extremely nice room, comfortable firm bed, with all of the amenities one would expect from a top flight hotel. Good breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. An extraordinary location in a wonderful town. Highly recommended!

Beautiful hotel with upscale furnishings and decor. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Dining at the restaurant was so enjoyable. The food was absolutely amazing! The service was exceptional and fun (thanks to Dennis). What a great place to celebrate my birthday!

Zadars "stari grad," right where where a tourist wants to be, unfortunately lacks budget accommodations. As compensation, this top flight property lacks very little, offering the glitzy public spaces, luxurious rooms and very attentive ,professional, multiligual staff that the price would lead one to expect. Included in the rate is a sumptious breakfast that one would have trouble duplicating on ones own. A minor quibble is that (at least our) room was rather poorly lit,
though one comes to Zadar, not to sit in ahotel room, but to savor the bustling pedstrian streets with their cafe life wonderful ice cream and pizza by the slice which we did not see elsewhere in Croatia

Our Dalmation Coast trip by car included a stop in Zadar, the nicest place I have ever visited that I had never heard of. Hotel Bastion was really pleasant. It is a smaller hotel with a comfortable, cozy lobby bar, an excellent restaurant (if a bit pricey) and friendly, attentive staff. The rooms are slightly larger than the norm for European hotel rooms. The hotel sits on the harbor which is full of expensive yachts from all over the world. The hustle and bustle of the harbor with ferries coming and going is interesting to watch. The only thing that bugged me a bit was the spotty coverage of their wifi service within the hotel. You are within easy walking distance of any part of the city. This was the best of a dozen hotels we stayed at during our European trip.
