We visited on our first day in Pula and walked around the outside of the fort before going in. The views are fantastic on every side and the layout is very clear. There's a couple of exhibitions inside which are quite interesting as it's very varied and gives you a glimpse into different aspects of life without being too overwhelming.
However, there was very little actual information on the fort itself. We quite enjoyed the minimalism where the fort was bare 'as it was'. It was a main difference we found visiting UK Tourist sites compared to Croatian - there was a lack of information boards and lack of restrictions in Croatia which was quite nice, as it felt much more honest than some UK attractions which can be a bit 'look but don't touch' at times.
However, the entry fee was only 20 kuna each so really good value and a nice way to kill and hour or two. If you don't fancy going in you can walk around the outside of the fort and still enjoy the views.
