“Ice hockey”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

We only saw the outside as it was closed as they were preparing it for the first ice hockey game ever played in a roman areana that night.

“Spectacular.........”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

The Arena Is huge... Located in the middle of the city. The first impression is: WOW ! As you drive thru Pula, following the signs, the Arena is seen in the distance coming ever so close. The parking is a little expensive but worth it. The Roman Amphitheatre in Pula was built in the 1st. Century AD by Emperor Vespasian, who also funded and started to built the Rome Colosseum. It was able to accomodate 20,000 people and was hosting battles of gladiators and wild beasts. Today, it has a capacity of 5,000 people and it is used to show film & music festivals and opera concerts.
The Arena is deteriorating from lack if care and abuse. The restoration is in progress however slow.

“Must see”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

Don't pass up the chance to visit this incredible historic site. The visitor's center is OK, but the real allure is the arena which is in pretty good shape for 2,000 yrs old!

“Must see if you enjoy ancient history.”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

Loved that we could walk anywhere we wanted and could take pictures at our leisure. Great museum underneath also worth seeing, which includes olive vases 2,000 years old. If you haven't seen the Roman Coliseum this will give you an idea of its' beauty. Beautiful setting with the Adriatic Sea in the background. If in Pula - don't miss this one attraction.
