We came here twice, the first on the recommendation of our Hostel owner and the second because it was so delicious.
The food is simple, often grilled or BBQ meat (Pljeskavica) in home cooked bread which was crispy on the out, soft in the middle and tasted amazing. The menu is in English though the translations aren't great but do the job and you can work most stuff out.
We went first in the afternoon about 6pm, early dinner by local standards and the place was pretty empty which worried us at first but a very friendly service with staff who spoke excellent english got us settled right in. The second we went about 12ish for a lunch before we had a day out and it was even quieter with good service again with different staff.
Food is served quickly though this may have just been because it's empty, and it's great value with most dishes being 35 or 40 kuna, and more than enough. Both times we left more than full.
Total bill for two meals, two drinks and a side was about 120 kuna.
If you go upstairs there's a nice sheltered balcony bit where you can sit and the view isn't amazing, of the building opposite mostly, but you can see over to the sea beyond and the cranes.
The food doesn't look anything fancy when it arrives, but once you get stuck in it really delivers and tastes great. The price is good, and is local food without being swamped by tourists.
This really was one of our favourite places we went in Pula.
