We stayed for two nights at this fantastic hotel. It was clean, tidy and had beautiful modern interiors. The pool was a nice bonus. The only thing that let it down was that some of the reception staff didn't seem to want to help us. Most were great, but some seemed a bit like they couldn't be bothered. We went to ask for more milk and tea for our room (two teabags and two milks are not enough for 24 hours for 2 people), and were told that they would be stocked up the next day! They replaced them with the same 2 bags and 2 milk. You would have thought this small request could have been easily dealt with, it is not like we asked for something hard. The breakfast was also a bit poor. They had a good choice, but the fried food was swimming in fat, and the fried eggs still had runny egg white. We expected a luxurious stay, and it didn't quite live up to that. We also got woken by thumping and banging from people above our rooms. The location is great if you want to stay at the resort, but you wouldn't want to walk into pula, as it is quite a way out.

We stayed here in June for 12 days (sorry for the late review).

We had an excellent stay at this hotel, it was very clean. It has free wifi all round the hotel, your room and the pool which is an excellent bonus.

The bedroom was superb with an immaculately clean bathroom. We had a balcony which looked over the Marina.

The pool area is large and clean, with very comfortable double beds for sunbathing on. You get fresh towels every day, and the pool staff cannot do enough for you. Anna was amazing! She delivered a beer every hour and would not let you even get up off the sunbed! Felt very VIP service! There was plenty of sunbeds and umbrella's for everyone.

Food was good and there was a large variety which changed every day.

The concierge was helpful, and arranged for us ot have a meal at a local restaurant one night for our anniversary. He also then had sparkling wine, fruit and pastries left in our room which was a lovely touch.

The only improvements I would suggest are:

It was the first year they have done an all inclusive package. The drinks options were very limited I felt, and this could be expanded. It also didn't include one bar or restaurant and you got no supplement towards it. The bar in the lobby doesn't show the same level of service as the staff in the pool area who are fantastic and so attentive, they cannot do enough.

The entertainment wasn't great in the hotel - but this wasn't a big thing for us. We went for 12 days of quiet relaxation.

Overall - brilliant hotel, gorgeous location and would definately return to Croatia and this hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay with us.
Here at the Park Plaza Histria we always strive to exceed the expectations of our guests, and we are pleased to read that on this occasion we have succeeded.
You have made specific mention of Anna in the Pool Lounge bar; and we are so pleased that she has made this extra effort and personal connection to really make your stay a memorable one.
On a more negative note, we are sorry to hear that the drink offer didn’t match your expectations. We’ll share your kind suggestions with our Food & Beverage Manager.

Just had an eleven night stay at this hotel with my wife and two friends. Definitely one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. Great food, fantastic location, clean spacious rooms with balcony and wonderful views. The hotel pools (indoor and out) were great and there were many other facilities within the hotel complex to enjoy. The town of Pula is just a short bus ride away and is well worth a visit, and other excursions can be booked in the hotel as well. The final mention must go to the hotel staff, they were just about the most polite, friendly and helpful we've come across, nothing was too much trouble and if there was a problem that couldn't be solved on the spot they very quickly found someone who could help. We would have no hesitation about returning to this hotel in the future.

Room Tip: Higher floors have a better view over the Adriatic.

My wife and I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Park Plaza, Histria in Pula.
The hotel and it's location is wonderful.
The food, rooms, spa facilities, staff and location are perfect for any couple wanting tp spend a week away relaxing while still having the option to exert a bit of energy.
We went All Inclusive and can say that it was a good choice.
The Hotel: Very tastefully refurbished, very comfortable, lots of sunbeds, pool outside is good but the pool inside is even bigger and better. The other spa facilities are good too.
There is even a Casino should you want that sort of thing.
The Hotel is situated inside a larger 'Park Plaza' complex. There are many clay tennis courts. You can book 1 hour per day on these courts free, as part of the AI package.
There are cycles to hire too at a very reasonable price.
There is a small complex of shops near by including a supermarket should you need it.
The Location: The Hotel is situated on a peninsular. The 'rear' sea view rooms over look a small island, some of coast and a bit of the sea. The rooms facing the main entrance (front) all seem to have views overlooking the complex but also the marina. So views from all rooms are good.
A 80Kn taxi ride will get you into the centre of Pula in about 10 min's. This seemed quite reasonable to me.

The Rooms: We had a standard twin room. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom is a good size including quite a large modern shower. There are complimentary soaps/gels which are replenished each day..
There is a large flat screen TV. This includes BBC 1, 2, ITV and Channel 4. (So no getting away from it completely if you turn the TV on!)
There is complimentary Tea & Coffee in the room. (Including Earl Grey, my wife's favourite)
They are large and spacious with good sized balcony.
The rooms are cleaned everyday and we had no complaints with the standard of this work.
There is free use of the safe in the room.
There is a mini bar too but this is not free. So you have been warned! :-)

The Food: Is always excellent Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. There is a wide selection of meat & fish plus vegetarian options at all times.

The Staff are superb. Nothing is too much trouble. I must mention Ira one of the bar staff. She works tirelessly all day serving drinks. Nothing is too much trouble. She always has a smile for you and most pleasant nature. All the other bar, restaurant & cleaning staff are also very good.
The reception staff are mostly excellent. There is the odd one who can be a bit 'stern faced' but this is a cultural thing and not personal. They are all very helpful.

Activities: There are two staff who put on activities every day. They work very hard offering walks around the area & a tour of Pula. A boat trip onto & around the small island near by. Demonstrations of local cuisine. Aerobic sessions in the pool. It all part of the package and you can do it all, some of it or nothing. There is no pressure.

This hotel is for couples or small groups of friends who are looking for a bit of culture with some sun, relaxation, good food & drink with a bit of exercise, if they want it. It is not really for families. Nor is it for those wanting to 'rave' till dawn. However, the bar is open till midnight.
There is some basic entertainment. One night there is local folk music, one night a duo piano & singer and other nights it's a solo act doing hits of 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's & 2000's.

I would go again and will do so in a couple of years.
Croatia and in particular Istria is a wonderful. It is populated by friendly, warm and welcoming people. It is definitely worth a visit. Go before it becomes too popular.
It is not dissimilar to having a holiday in Tuscany but without the high prices.
e.g. a Pizza and a Beer in a square in Tuscany will cost around £25/£30.
In Istria it would be about £10 and just as good quality.

We will return to the Histria in couple of years.

Room Tip: All rooms are good. I would not bother paying for a sea view as the view of the marina is perfectly...

Just returned from a weeks holiday with my hubby . Fab hotel on the whole. The rooms are spotless modern, the bed is the most comfortable bed I have slept in , and much as I don't really enjoy showers I liked the power shower ! The lounge is spacious immaculate with comtempary furniture. Dining room again spotless, not sure about the "reserved" seats for Thomson guests, I felt it classified you but it did ensure you a table easily. The food was excellent quality and taste and I defy anybody to say otherwise. The outside areas were again excellent ,getting a sunbed not a problem, they had lovely cushions and there were double bed loungers for those romantic souls,Ana from the pool bar is attentive polite a lovely lady who was constantly making sure you were supplied with drinks, she is a very hard working lady.Okay only one bad point to this hotel and this is the lobby bar and it was nothing to do with range and quality of drinks as they were ok it was the very poor service.as all inclusive guests it seemed that paying guests took priority over those wearing the band.even when it's not busy at bar certain staff still avoid taking your order and serving you , at an empty bar we waited 10 minute on one occasion, so sort it out as it's the only downside and we are not getting our drinks free cos we've paid up front !! Over all this hotel is excellent and I would stay there again and to top it all weather was lovely

We have just returned from our fourth holiday in Croatia. And this time stayed at the Park Plaza. What a fantastic venue.
We selected a sea view room (308) which came with a large balcony and was equipped with table and chairs. A great view over the hotel gardens and onto the Adriatic beyond. It got the sun all day. We went all inclusive. And were spoilt for choice. Three full meals each day. Breakfast was a mix of the traditional "English". And continental. With a huge selection of fresh fruit and yogurts. There was a chef on hand to make any combination of omelettes for you, right in front of your eyes. Tea and coffee was brought to our table by very attentive waiting staff. (If you go, look out for big, very big Ivan) You are able to go up to the server as many times as you like. There is no rushing and the staff could not be more helpful. Lunch was again, great. 2 varieties of soup. A huge selection of salad and dressings, and at least 4 hot (not luke warm) meats. Fresh veggies and an assortment of pasta were on hand. Many sweets, and ice cream to die for.(Bang went the diet)Dinner was as inviting as the other main meals of the day. With a speciality dish, carved by a chef, during our stay we had suckling pig, turkey, beef and lamb. These cuts were carved for you. Also on offer were about 4 other hot meats and two varieties of fish. And this EVERY day. Drinks were brought to our table at every meal. Red and white wine (We are red wine drinkers, and as such did not enjoy the white, but friends of ours were the opposite, horses for courses!) The all inclusive option was great. The main bar was open from breakfast until 23.00 hrs and was available for alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, 3 varieties of coffee, and as many types of tea as is available. Together with still or fizzy water. The rooms were cleaned EVERY day, and the bedding was changed every 2 days. The air conditioning was included in our holiday, so to was the very large safe, located in our room. The bathroom was palatial. Very hot water available all day. Tea and coffee making condiments were replaced as we used them.
One little gripe. There were NO drawers in the room. Which meant that I had to keep some of my clothes in my suit case for the entire holiday. But Hey! Ho! this was not much of a problem. The swimming pool was kept clean and tidy throughout. With a large staff paying attention to the area from about 07.00 hrs until 19.00 hrs. No litter. No discarded towels etc etc. Pool towels are available. Which means that you don't have to take them with you. All in all a great place t stay. We have already booked for next year, and we have only been back for 2 days.

Room Tip: If you want to sun bathe on a balcony, opt for a room over the pool. as most rooms have balconies th...

We were Croatia 'virgins' and weren't at all sure what to expect and were delighted to find the hotel well deserving its 4 *s. Apparently the hotel had recently been renovated and our room was modern (with flat screen tv) and a wonderful balcony with a great view overlooking the sea. The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in for many years. The walk in shower was another great bonus as I'm registered disabled. The staff were very friendly as were all the locals we met. The food was excellent and we didn't feel the need to 'eat out'. I enjoyed the outdoor pool and the many wooded walks within the complex along the coast. Evening entertainment was better than most. Only slight downside is that the hotel didn't appear to have a 'no shorts' policy for the evening meal. Also, as a disabled person, it wasn't impossible to navigate around the grounds but would be difficult if you were a wheelchair user. The excellent city of Pula is only a few km away and there is a bus but it was too far for me to walk to and be able to explore so we were restricted to taxis. All in all one of the best holidays we have had in recent years and we will certainly return.

Room Tip: Higher floor with sea view
