We ate here twice: the first visit was so good that we booked for a second two nights later. The food is great and the service on our first visit was outstanding: staff could not have been more helpful. The maitre de obviously knows about food and wine and we had terrific shell fish, a wonderful sea food risotto and excellent tagliata Fiorentina. It was an hour before we got our starters but that didn't matter because we had drinks and terrific bread cooke don the premises and wonderful Istrian olive oil. The wine list was good with interesting local wines and very decently priced. Including the tip this meal for four cost less than £100 - expensive by local standards but probably not even half what we would pay for a similar dinner in the UK. Food on the second visit was equally good: an outstanding antipasto del mare and lovely ravioli with local ham, mushrooms and truffles as examples. Lovely bread and oil again and a very interesting local red wine called Grimalda (found this on the net afterwards at a price above that charged by the restaurant). Problem was that although we managed to get a bottle of wine early on, our order was not taken until 45 minutes after we arrived and the bread didn't come till after that. If the service had been as good as the first visit this would have been five stars all through. Go fro the excellent food but don't be in a hurry.
