Apartments Artemis Dubrovnik
Ranked #26 of 516 Specialty Lodging in Dubrovnik
Reviewed September 26, 2010

We spent a week in one of the Armetis apartments in Sept 2010. Loved Dubrovnik and could not have made a better choice of apartment. It was exceptionally well maintained, spotlessly clean with comfortable beds. As a fairly fussy retired couple we were very well satisified.
Marija the owner is a lovely person, she maintained regular contact to ensure we had everything we needed and really made us feel welcome.
The kitchen area was compact but adequate, we had our breakfast there and sometimes a light lunch. There was such a choice of restaurants that we found that we could eat out at a reasonable cost each evening.
We hired a car and without the allocated car parking space at the apartment, I don't know how we would have managed. (Parking in the greater Dubrovnik area is metered and you pay night and day).
The apartment location was excellent, in a quiet cul-de-sac, and after we got our bearings we found we did not need the car: 50yds from a grocery store, around the corner to the main street to the supermarket and other shops and of course the bus stop to the old city. It was only about a 15 min walk to the Lapad beach where we spent a while every day

Placed in the middle of the Lapad coast, it's the best Apartment you can get for this ridicoulous price.

Actually, it's not an flat aparment, it's a big new house with 4 rooms(with kitchen, bedroom, living and toilet, I mean, EVERYTHING) in a REALLY quiet place. It's a little bit far from the old town, but you can get a bus every 5 minutes that cost about 1€ ($1,4) and you can get all the things to visit in Dubrovnik from your apartment.

I'm a modest student that cannot pay a GOOD apartment everytime I travel, but in this case, I paid for a REALLY REALLY good apartment for a tiny price.

Simply, It's the cheapest, and it's the best in the area. Well comunnicated with the centre and every interesting thing to watch in Dubrovnik.

You have a grocery shop from 1 minute by walk, and a big supermarket from 5 minutes. Everything's near to the apartment.

And her landlady Marija, it's gorgeous and very very helpful!

If you are going to Dubrovnik and you don't want a noisy and expensive apartment, paid for this, it worth :)

PS: Marija speaks english very well, you haven't any problem qith the comunnication :)

We booked this apartment through holiday rentals website, where the owner Marija contacts you direct by e-mail. As others have said, Dubrovnik is expensive, so this apartment was a great find for us. Marija is extremely helpful and picked us up from the airport. the apartment itself is quite basic but had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean.
The location for us was ideal, there are supermarkets, bars and cafes minutes away and you are also very close to the new port which is ideal for day trips away on the ferries. We also enjoyed walking into the Old town from here, but it does take about 30 to 40 minutes. The Old Town is really special and we enjoyed our whole time in dubrovnik. Would definately recommend these apartments to others considering a stay in Dubrovnik.

Too bad there are so few reviews as this is a great place to stay. The review below this gives a lot of true info. Marija is lovely and will do whatever she can to make sure you have what you need and to answer your questions (I always have lots!). Dubrovnik is super expensive so staying at this reasonably priced apartment was a great way to go. You can make some simple meals (grocery store is close) to save money or there is a lot of choice of restaurants nearby. The rooms are spotless and well appointed. If you need a receptionist or lots of other people this won't work, but if you want a very clean, conveniently located place to stay in Dubrovnik you won't regret staying here. There is no view, but you don't have to go far to have a view. I stayed in a place closer to the old town later and did not enjoy it as much. This place felt like my own little home and was the best place I stayed in Croatia.

My husband and I had never been to Coatia before and did not really know what to expect. We were very surprised! I booked the flights with Thomson and found this lovely little apartment in Lapad on Holiday Rentals website, whereby you contact the owner direct to make all the arrangements. I chose the apartment because after viewing it on the website it looked very clean, was not far from the airport, and all the amenities i.e. supermarket, beach, harbour were close to hand. Buses are very frequent which get you into the centre of Dubrovnik in about 15 minutes. Marija made us feel very welcome, she picked us up from and dropped us back to the airport for a small fee. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday with the most scenic views, combined with lots of history then this is the ideal place. Most people speak English and the food is excellent. If there is one downside I would say it is probably not suitable for young children, as Croatia has a rocky coastline and not many sandy beaches and there did not seem to be a lot for children to do other than the entertainment provided by the big hotels. We have already recommended Croatia to our family and friends and Artemis Apartments are the ideal place to stay - we will definately visit again! Carole & Gary Murphy
