We are staying at the Radisson Blu & thought we would try La Pasta. We didn't have a booking but we were seated straight away. I had a chicken pizza & my boyfriend had the seafood pasta & both were really nice. The service was good with a nice relaxed atmosphere. Worth a visit if you are staying at the Radisson & it's really not expensive.

Went here last night, had the prawn pappardelle which was really good. My girlfriend had a bbq chicken pizza which was very tasty. Coldest beer so far on Croatia so thumbs up there! Was good value, similar to prices in Dubrovnic old town although it is frustrating that none of the restaurants have their menus on show, so you have to go into each one and ask for a menu to see if you fancy anything!! Why Radisson??
Good staff, nice setting.

This is the Italian-themed restaurant at the Radisson Sun Gardens. It's located on the main avenue that contains most of the hotel's restaurants, so you are able to wander along and compare the menus for the Italian, fish and meat restaurants before deciding.

We ate here on two evenings, coming back the second time because the first meal was so good.

The sharing antipasti starter was very good, although the range of flavours wasn't as comprehensive as you would hope for in a platter. There should be a wide variety of textures and tastes on offer and it the platter seemed a bit conservative for my choice.

The main course pizzas however were exceptional. The menu has a great range of pizzas, including white pizzas, with the menu expanded this year to include more pasta dishes. The pizzas are enormous, to the point that you have to be seriously hungry to have one all to yourself (I was so I did); if you're not that hungry, sharing one should prove more than satisfactory.

The mariana seafood pizza looked like a fish market on a plate; clams, mussles, tuna, squid, white fish, anchovies topped with rocket. It smelt amazing and tasted gorgeous. The meat pizza was equally fine, with a wonderful earthy, smoked salami that suffused its aroma through the whole dish.

The wine list is more than ample and includes the stunning plavac mali Miloš, which is one of those wines that sums up Croatia and makes memories all by itself (usually 'gee, how many of those did we have last night?').

Service throughout was attentive, friendly and welcoming. It's worth mentioning Branimir who is now the manager. When we first came to the Sun Gardens back in the day, he was working as a waiter in a cocktail bar - nope, that's a Human League song - he was a waiter at The Butcher, the meat-restaurant farther down the avenue. He had a real flair for customer service and it's great to see that this has been nurtured by the management who have now rewarded his capability by putting him in charge of a restaurant. You'll recognise him; he's the tall, dark-haired guy who insists in wearing a tie despite it being more than 30'c because it looks better.

As a suggestion, don't go really early evening as it takes the pizza oven a while to get up to temperature: 7pm or later is a good starting point. If you want, you can sit outside the nearby Vino wine bar beforehand, salivating with increasing avidity as the aroma of a wood-fired oven drifts in your direction, as an enticing sensory calling card.

I really can't recall exactly much we spent on each evening; it was less than a little but way less than too much. I do know that we ended up back on the balcony with a takeaway box, tucking into the leftover slices, while dancing badly to a live band playing into the night over by one of the pools.

Definitely worth eating here if you're staying at the Sun Gardens.

La Pasta is the best of an average bunch of restaurants at the Radisson Blu. All are overpriced for what they are, and like the hotel as a whole service levels are average (they should be much better for the price). The pasta and pizzas are the best choice at this restaurant, in particular the seafood spaghetti (black spaghetti), and the meat pasta. The seafood pizza was also good, as was antipasti starter. However, the fish (John Dory) we ordered was undercooked so had to be sent back, but the restaurant dealt with reasonably well, although the flavours in the dish did not work. Desserts were good. All told, the best meal we had whilst staying at the Radisson, but there are much better options locally and in Dubrovnik.

If you feel like having a pizza then that is the perfect place for it. Their Pizza is thin crust and very good. We didn't try anything else.
