“Highly recommend the More!”
Reviewed April 17, 2014

Booked The More based on previous Tripadvisor reviewer recommendations and it did not disappoint. We were staying a week to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We didnt tell anyone this but the maid must have seen our cards and informed the Manager. After a rather wet and chilly anniversary day in Dubrovnik town, we arrived back to a bottle of champagne and certificate. A lovely action and much appreciated.
The hotel is lovely. Quiet, clean with well appointed rooms and bathrooms. The weather was rather mixed for us as very early in season. The terrace of the restaurant and beach bar area would be lovely in warmer weather. We managed a couple of breakfasts outside which was lovely, overlooking the bay.
Breakfast was very good and if you wanted, you could request pancakes or omlettes.
We had opted for half board when booking. This was a good option as most evenings a bit chilly to venture out. However, you need to realise that if HB, you get two starter options and 2 main options, one meat and one fish. One dessert option, although you can request ice cream. We were quite happy with this. The food was always really well presented. The vegetable risotto with chicken our favourite! The a la carte menu looked to be comprehensive with fish and steaks a speciality. If we were to visit in the summer, would probably choose to eat at the More some evenings and to try some of the other nearby restaurants too.
All staff we encountered very professional and helpful.

Worth walking to the Castile bar (turn right at bottom of steps on lower path) to have a drink and admire the sunset!
Ten minute stroll along lower path to bus stop. No 6 bus will take you to Dubrovnik old town. Tickets or Dubrovnik card from the kiosk. You can also buy the 1,3 or 7 day Dubrovnik cards there.
Do go down to the harbour. While away a lunch time at the restaurant next to the yacht club. Usually a cruise ship in and always something going on.
The cafe in the open shopping precinct just up from the bus stop is where locals congregate for morning coffee. A nice buzz and a decent coffee for £1 a cup! Good snacks.

Room Tip: Get a sea view if you can!

We rarely return to the same hotel but had such a good experience last year that we decided to book Hotel More when we visited Dubrovnik a second time. The hotel was superb yet again - location is fantastic, right on the water in a pretty little bay, the bedroom rooms are well appointed and comfortable, the food good and all staff extremely helpful. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Pay a bit more for a room which over looks the bay

This place ticked just about every box. Reasonably priced, very comfortable rooms, very modern, friendly staff, good breakfast selection.
Delightful little bar in a cave, which closed both nights before we could get to it, but looked pretty cool from outside.
It had a couple of very slight drawbacks. The entry is down two levels from the road without a good connection. Porter was very helpful partly making up for this. A sock and a bottle top under the bed showed slightly less than perfect cleaning,

Not being able to pronounce the name if the hotel we were staying at was not a problem (really), because everybody local seems to know about it!

As a treat I booked the hotel limo transfer from the airport, so we arrived in a bit of style. We were shown to our room (303) which is one of their deluxe ones with balcony. The room was spacious and the bathroom had a whirlpool bath. The balcony is the full width of the room and has a sliding door. The view? Spectacular across Lapad Bay and you can see the villa, that was previously owned by Tito (we were reliably informed).

The hotel location was ideal, it was so peaceful and not too far to walk along the promenade to bars and restaurants.

It did take us a little while to work out which lift took you to where you want to go - reception is on the top floor, Restaurant More on floor zero and the Cave bar is -2.

Breakfasts were not the best we have ever had, but were ample and the sparkling wine available was a nice touch. Also, the grapes were the largest we had ever seen!

All the staff we interacted with were pleasant and efficient. We also had treatments at the wellness centre, which is well worth a visit (especially the day after you have walked the City Walls).

Overall, we have had a very nice stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

We just booked a week at this hotel and decided to go for the deluxe sweet as we needed a relaxing holiday. Couldn't have made a better choice. Even the man at the car hire said it was one of the best hotels in Dubrovnik. It's clean, comfortable and welcoming. The restaurant is excellent and the staff were most welcoming and friendly. The view from room 803 is spectacular, especially watching the sun go down whilst sitting in the hot tub. One small gripe, there's no facilities to make tea in the room despite there being a small kitchen area but apart from that this is a beautiful, relaxing, friendly place to be.

Room Tip: Room 803 has a spectacular view!
