Firstly the staff are incredible, nothing is hard for them. Perfect location, bed very comfortable, breakfast delicious. Hotel has hard to explain "007" spirit, private cave with bar, lux limousine in front, private boats, bars and restaurants on every corner, not overcrowded.
This hotel exceeded our expectations. It is not a large hotel which I think makes it more special. Hotel More is beautiful and clean and the service is excellent. The rooms are beautifully appointed, very clean and comfortable. The staff are all friendly and helpful.We absolutely loved our stay in Hotel More.
We stayed at the Hotel More for a week. Superb Hotel in a stunning location. Very quiet with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. It was our first visit to Croatia, what a fantastic holiday!!!! We especially loved the cave bar and the rooftop Jacuzzi with the splendid views across the bay. Dubrovnik, which was only a ten minute bus ride away didn't disappoint either. The city wall is well worth a visit but go early in high season and try and avoid the cruise ships, as we did. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Perhaps the pool is a little on the small side but whilst we were there we often had the pool to ourselves, so it wasn't too much of a problem. We wouldn't hesitate to visit Croatia again in the future.
Stayed at hotel More in mid August and enjoyed every second of our 5 days stay.
Travelled through Croatia for 3 weeks and this was by far the nicest hotel we stayed in.
Reception staff was very friendly and gave us really good tips on what to do while in Dubrovnik.
We stayed in the Hotel Moore twice (we were in Croatia for 3 weeks and stayed here at the beginning and the end of the holiday as a transfer base).
The first time we were upgraded to the best room in the hotel, a suite with a Jacuzzi outside – it was ok, but nothing special, definitely not 5* (think 3* apartment).
The best thing about the hotel are i) the restaurant (the food is amazing, although some of the staff are rude); and ii) the cave bar (basically a cave with a bar in it, but very beautiful!) – however, both of these are open to the public, so not something specific to actually staying at the hotel.
On the second time around we stayed in a Seaview room – the view was great, and the room was nice, but again not a 5* hotel (although we were at the end of a 3 week trip, and it was over 40 degree ‘C’ in Dubrovnik, so anything with working aircon was ‘great’ at that point).
The hotel seems to price itself off the restaurant and cave bar, but the hotel is basically a decent 4* hotel (think a Hilton hotel), so you’re paying 5* prices for a 4* experience.
The pool is also tiny, probably 2 meters wide as maximum, and the ‘beach area’ (a concrete slab next to the sea) doesn’t have enough space for all guests – these aspect, along with the sub standard lobby, are at best 3* quality.
Around the corner you (literally 5 mins) are also in package tour hell – think Costa del Sol, which drags the hotel down (although it does mean there are loads of places to eat).
We did like the hotel, the staff were very nice and helpful (restaurant aside), it just isn’t worth anywhere near the price – it also definitely isn’t a family hotel (given the issues with pool and ‘beach area’), and much more suited to couples.
My advice would be to either stay in the package tour hell around the corner and pay half the price (but use the Hotel More’s facilities a couple of times) or stay further out on the promontory past Hotel Moore, further away from the Costa del Dubrovnick.
If the price were right I would have given this hotel 4/5, but I think the price means that the value is so poor that it has to be 2/5.
Nice hotel, but massively overpriced ...........
By far the best hotel we stayed in during our 12 days in Croatia. Small and discreet, set against a cliff with magnificent views, the Hotel More was a haven for us outside the hustle and bustle of the lovely Old City of Dubrovnik. Their staff are well trained, friendly and helpful and the restuarant kept us extremely well-fed and impressed with it's cuisine. The restuarant is perfectly situated with a covered patio and an uninterrupted sea view. Our room and bathroom were large and well appointed but being one floor below the busy reception area we could hear furniture being moved around and the clip clop of high heeled shoes which was not altogether ideal. There is also a confusing and less than intuitive lift situation that kept us guessing...... Nevertheless, this is a really lovely 5* boutique establishment, a welcome alternative to large and impersonal American hotel chains and we absolutely loved our stay there.
