This location is perfectly positioned to offer 5 star panoramic views from the pool terrace, the closest comparison is somewhere exotic like overlooking the islands in Thailand but your in Europe less than 2 hours from London. The house is outstanding full ammenities, the owner is a Canadian expat so they made sure everything was available, there is even a full on site manager who can organize F&B services so you dont have to litterally do anything. One of Europes best beaches is in close proximity to the house, we enjoyed being active as your constatntly walking and exploring the island, we ate and drank and never gained a pound. The hosts were more than accomodating cant wait for next year !!!
This is the perfect villa rental, comfortable, well-equipped, beautiful views, lots of things to do, and on such a pretty island, just a perfect contrast to the commerciality of Dubrovnik. The owner Jelena and caretaker Alan are super-helpful, couldn't ask for more. They told us food shopping on the island was limited, and it was even more limited than we expected. Alan will shop for you on request, so just need a little planning. The 250 steps to the Villa were a challenge to some! But Alan's buggy is a great help. With arrival by speedboat, and special birthday dinner cooked by private chef, we felt we were really 'living the life'
I was completely blown away by this house: fantastic views, great pool, perfect layout, everything we wanted. The little touches were especially nice - the extra tank for the gas grill, the rosemary and mint growing on the terrace for our cocktails and cooking ingredients and the hot & cold water shower for rinsing off after going to the beach.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone (in fact I've told any number of folks about it) and hope to return soon.
I have stayed at Villa Lopud with my family four times now out of season, twice in April and twice in October. It is truly amazing. The villa is clean, spacious and luxurious and feels like home. The terraces have gorgeous views over the town, the hills and the tranquil Adriatic. The caretaker, Alan, was extremely helpful with everything.
I love having breakfast on the lower terrace, listening to the birds and the waves of the beach far below. In the evening, my wife and I love to sit on the upper terrace drinking wine and watching more stars than you can imagine.
The house itself and Lopud island are very kid friendly. We have two small children, and enjoyed walking along the waterfront, having lunch at one of the pizzerias, looking at the boats, using the small playground next to the harbor and then dipping our feet in the water at the small sand beach.
We were in a group of 12 people staying here in August for 1 week, the house was soo clean with lots of character, and stunning views. We all had a fresh, clean room with plenty of space throughout the house.
Alan the caretaker, greeted us on arrival and could not have done enough for us. He was most helpful the whole time during our visit. The wedding was a success and such a fab location to hold the reception dinner & drinks.
I would definitely like to come in the near future, Lopud Island is a beautiful, peaceful & friendly island.
What more can we say that other reviews have not covered? This is a true gem of a rental for people who love to be in a property that is indicative of an area. It is immaculate on all fronts and one has an even deeper appreciation of the work that has gone into its restoration after seeing their compiled Shutterfly coffee table book. The 260 steps up from the village may tax you, and did anyone else mention that the path to Sunj beach is uphill both ways? We are avid hikers, and it is about a 20 minute walk uphill, then downhill from the villa to Sunj. Arrive before 11:00 am if you want some quiet lounging before the ferries and day trippers arrive from Dubrovnik. Do ask Alan to do the advance shopping for you, as there is very limited groceries on the island, though the bakery does have fresh bread and pastries daily. Strongly recommend that one does the hike above the villa to the western side of the coastline as the views are spectacular across the Adriatic and loop down to the sunset gazebo and back to town past the Lafodia Hotel (about an hour). The other side of the island has trails to various churches and the old fortress with again, some impressive views. The outdoor spaces/terraces were our favorite feature here, we spent many hours during the day and also during the evenings star gazing. Thank you to Jelena, Dennis, and Alan for everything, we enjoyed our 4 days tremendously!
Villa Lopud is a beautifully restored stone house on the top of a hill on Lopud Island - you really can't help but relax and unwind here. The family that restored it uses it as their own holiday home and as a result great attention and care has been put into the smallest details. The house is very spacious and is perfect for groups - there is room for both group activities but also space and quiet time when you want to take a rest. The house is very private and has incredible views of the island. We enjoyed champagne by the pool watching the sunset on several evenings. The house is very well equipped with a full kitchen (plenty of utensils etc), tv, wifi, linen, towels etc. The pool complete with sun recliners and beach towels is wonderful and makes it easy to cool off when you don't feel like walking to the sea. An excellent caretaker is on sight to answer questions, help with any aspects of the house, book restaurants and activities, and arrange airport transfers. The owners are very pleasant and easy to deal with. We enjoyed it so much the first time that we unhesitatingly immediately booked to return the next year. A true gem!
