We had three nights here recently and we found the hotel to be ideally situated for getting to the 'old' city. We had a very nice room, or suite in the annexe which was an interesting journey from the main hotel.
The hotel's restaurant was 'closed' but we were not worried by this, but would like to have been made aware of this on our arrival. However within ten minutes walk there were quite a number and variety of eating places to choose from.
Being in Lapad where most hotels appear to be situated you were close to the main bus routes. Five minutes and you can catch a No 6 right to Pile Gate - cost if you buy your ticket from the little kiosks by most stops was 12 Kuna(£1.30) each way.
You are also not far from the main Gruz harbour so if you fancied a boat trip it wasn't too far either.
One thing to bear in mind is that after October 1st, building work recommences after the Summer 'break' so allow for this. It didn't affect us but if you stayed near one of these sites it could get very noisy.

Did not read reviews as we are on a motor bike tour and had no idea where we were staying till last minute. Needs some updating, but good location for walking to main walking area as well as 5 mins from bus stop to get into old town. Budffet breakfast was varied and catered to all requirements. Did not eat at the restaurant but it seemed to have limited menu. No problem as plenty of restaurants within 5 mins and tons of coffee/beer bars.

This hotel has the wow factor as you approach, with its open restaurant terrace and inviting shady garden including a water feature. It is in a great location: quiet, yet close to the Lapad promenade, tourist supplies, a small shopping centre, and the Lapad Bay beach and seaside walking path. It’s a bit far to walk to the historic Old Town, but frequent (and inexpensive) buses run from the nearby bus stop.

Our rooms were in the “Villa”, a separate building of suites located across a parking lot behind the main hotel. Thus, some of our experiences may not apply to the main building. The double room was huge: actually, a junior suite with a foyer, large sitting room, private outside patio deck, generous-sized bathroom, and a large bedroom. Everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The included breakfast is served downstairs in the main building, and the hot and cold foods were varied and fresh.

There was no wifi in the Villa annex, so we had to migrate to the main hotel lobby to access the internet. Some maintenance details needed attention; for example, the outside lock to the Villa building was very difficult to open; and the shower door wheels were literally off their rails, so the glass door was balancing like a trap ready to fall on the next person to take their shower.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed talking to other guests who we met in the lobby while using our devices on the free (although painfully slow at times) wifi available there.

We have just returned home from a holiday in Dubrovnik. We stayed a week at the Hotel Aquarius and I must say we had a lovely time. Our air-conditioned room (306) had a view of the bay, albeit between other hotels that lie between the Hotel and the sea.

We had a spacious room with the usual facilities, and a good sized bathroom). Each room has access to Wi-fi, but this was a tad haphazard, and difficult to connect to at times, however this is fairly minor and the hotel does offer free use of a pc in the lobby. Very comfortable beds. Breakfast was a good - cereals, fruit, yoghurts, scrambled and boiled eggs, sausages, cold meats & cheeses, toasts & fresh rolls, preserves, juices and fresh coffee. Overall, Hotel Aquarius had everything we wanted, it was a short bus ride out of the main tourist area, and being a smaller Hotel it felt more comfortable, less stuffy and perfectly located for the nearby Lapad Beach or getting into the old city. The Hotel seemed to have many guests of various nationalities, but mainly Brits and Americans.

Hotel staff were polite and very helpful when we needed some assistance to confirm our transfers and day-trips which had been pre-arranged for us. They speak very good English and were able to provide useful information when requested.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk away from the bus stop (go around to the left beside the supermarket) and save yourself an unnecessary detour. We found the buses run frequently but are packed and in some cases dangerously overloaded (particularly number 6 the Babin Kuk bus).

A delightful stay in the Lapad District near the beach with many dining options along a nearby pedestrian avenue. The hotel is attractive with comfortable rooms - it serves a decent breakfast. Frankly, we enjoyed staying in this area -- a bit of a refreshing oasis after dealing with the cruise ship crowds in old Dubrovnik. Staff was helpful and pleasant. A short 7-10 minute walk will take you to a bus stop where you can catch a bus to the old town.
