“Powerfully curated photographic exhibitions”

Works really well as a gallery - it's always the photography that is the star attraction, not any politicised narrative, or overarching concept. Rotating exhibitions on two floors are supported by a smaller, but equally powerful display relating to the civil war. Very moving, and a vital part of any Dubrovnik itinerary.

“Chilling insight”

Makes you stop and think about the Jugoslav war specifically and wars more generally and impact the ordinary people. Great photos.

“Serious and Interesting Display”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

My friend and I searched this place out to see the images of what happened in the area only 23 years ago.

The photographs are very good, some are quite harrowing when you consider them in the context of the suffering experienced during the recent war.

The displays are very professional, the venue is quiet and climate controlled which creates the suitable atmosphere to experience the images. There is also a large display of Sudan images included, which while being superb photo's they seemed out of place in this location?

This venue isn't a fun thing and doesn't glorify anything, its more of a reflective memorial so people can glimpse what the area and its people went through. Worth a visit if you have at hour and £10 to spare.

“Allow your heart to be touched”

It feels important and worthwhile to visit this gallery of wartime photos. And the points those photos make of the horror of war, especially on non-combatants, can be close to devastating. The weakness is that the photos of the featured photographer/owner of the gallery, Wade Goddard, are not great photos, more a matter of him, bravely and determinedly, being in the right place at the right time (or wrong time, if you prefer). Some of the other photographers included are better image-makers.
