Hotel Stari Grad is a very well appointed small hotel just off the main thoroughfare in old Dubrovnik. Good, friendly customer service.

Our room was lovely, very comfortable and had everything we needed although we missed having additional seating for relaxing in between sight seeing bouts.

In particular, after settling in on arrival, fancying a bit of 'feet up' after a long day, we asked if we could sit on the roof terrace to read in the open air rather than the room which was inevitably a bit dark because of the location, but this wasn't possible as the roof terrace is small and completely given over to dining. So off we went into town and we ended up at Buza (shame!) as we couldn't find free seating anywhere....next day we discovered there's free seating in the old port area and you should be able to find a bench without having to squat in a cafe or bar....

The roof terrace is a fantastic location for breakfast. It didn't dawn on us what a special location it is until we walked around the city walls - we could then see it was one of the few dining areas in old Dubrovnik with a roof top view - no wonder they reserve it for dining only!

Hotel Stari Grad is a small boutique hotel ideally located in the Old Town - short walk to everything the Old Town has to offer. Roof Top restaurant offers very good food and outstanding views across the roof tops of the town. Staff were very helpful, rooms very clean, but you need to climb the stairs Recommended

I had a great stay in this hotel in Dubrovnik. The hotel is centrally located right in the Old Town, but also not far from Pile Gate for buses and taxis out of town (no vehicles can come inside the old city walls).

The room and bathroom were gorgeous, with a lovely shower and l'occitane toiletries. The rooms were also very soundproof with no city noise.

The rooftop restaurant had a beautiful view over the rooftops of the old town. We watched distant people walking on the city walls while eating our breakfast brioche. Because the hotel has only 8 rooms we had the rooftop to ourselves at breakfast!

Just a note for the mobility impaired, the hotel has no lift as it is a historic, protected building. The staff carry up your luggage though, and for the slower guest there was a lovely seat on each landing.

My stay here was the highlight of all my accommodation in Croatia!!!!!

We loved this hotel! It is small, which we prefer. The staff could not have been more helpful and courteous. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The roof-top restaurant was lovely and the food for both dinner and breakfast was top flight. The hotel is located just a short distance from the main street which is very busy. However the room was very quiet. Great location, great staff and great experience.

Room Tip: There is no elevator- this is an historically protected building. The staff helps with bags. The restaurant is on the 6th floor roof.

Small hotel with great location in Old Town near Pile Gate. Rooms are small with low ceilings on rooms above first floor, and no view - we faced a walls a few feet away. Breakfast on the 6th floor outdoor eating area was magical with fantastic views and food (brioche toast with homemade jams, great egg dishes and granola/fruit/yogurt option). Service was friendly and helpful - they printed a map for us to help with the next leg of our trip. No elevator - be prepared to climb stairs. No hair conditioner provided.

Room Tip: Choose room on first floor to minimize climbing and to have higher ceilings.
