This little hotel is about as good as boutique hotels get, sharp contemporary design beautifully finished to provide a stunning but restful haven in the middle of the bustle of the old town along with superb service and the little touches that make all the difference. What an amazing find..... Don't miss the rooftop terrace at sundown....

Boutique Hotle Stari Grad is in the center of Dubrovnik old town, close to the vibrant life och culture. Small but very beautiful and romantic rooms, and a fantastic roof top restaurant, Above5, where you can have dinner and also where the breakfast is served with a fantastic view over the ancient town.

Hidden up a narrow alley in the Old Town (Stari Grad in Croatian) is this tiny hotel. Only eight rooms, two per floor, but a great kitchen that serves excellent meals on a rooftop terrace. Rooms are clean and modern and I wish the shower I had at home was this nice.

The real gem though is the staff. Multilingual, friendly, efficient and accommodating. Our luggage was lost in transit and the desk made calls to the airlines, a local travel agent and more. They helped my wife find contact lenses, helped me find clothes and made some really good restaurant recommendations. They also spent time talking to us about Dubrovnik and Croatia. Their pride in their beautiful city was obvious.

Maja, Maro and Robert - thank you.

Room Tip: No elevator. Our second floor room was easy to get to - but it was a long climb to the sixth floor t...

We stayed there for four nights. Our airline had lost our luggage and the hotel staff was wonderful in helping with phone calls and anything we needed. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Thank you Maja and Robert.

You could not better this hotel. The staff, the service, the decor, the location - all were perfect. Tasteful, friendly, intimate. And the view from the rooftop terrace was as good as from the city walls. Sipping a cocktail as the sun was setting on the red rooftops of the Old Town was a highlight. Will be back.

The hotel is small, lovely, great located in the old town. The roof terrace has the breathtaking view and we got there delicious breakfast. The staff is very professional and helpful. The only problem was, that we were not able to turn off the airconditioning (but we didn´t even ask the staff).

Room Tip: Higher floors have better view.

The Stari Grad is a tastefully decorated gem in the heart of the old city, only a couple of minutes walk from the Pile Gate. Our room was on the second floor and had one of the best showers we've ever used! Having a beer on the roof terrace in the early evening was our favourite time of the day and it's a rare treat in the old town to have that facility. Special praise however is reserved for the staff (particularly Robert), who were lovely and our memories of Dubrovnik are all the richer for having met them.
