“Charming Old Town Hotel with Rooftop dining.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2014

We stayed here for 3 nights in this boutique hotel on a side 'street' in old town. The location was perfect- 1 minute after leaving your room you are strolling the Stradun (main street). The room was fairly large as was the bathroom.
We had breakfast at the roof top restaurant- the food and view were so good, we decided to come back for dinner! The sun-setting over the wall and old town are exceptional.
Staff was friendly and helpful- first morning we slept through breakfast- but they brought us the basics. Last morning we had to leave before breakfast- and again, staff came in a little early to fix us coffee and croissants.
Our only complaint was the noise- with the window open, it was quite loud from the street and a nearby hostel. With the windows closed it was fine- but as we were early in the season, the hotel had not yet changed from heat to a.c.- so with the windows closed- though quiet, it was a little hot and stuffy.
Nevertheless, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again- perhaps a higher room would help- although there is no elevator!

Room Tip: Higher to get away from noise- but lower if you don't climb stairs!

This is a beautiful hidden gem in the midst of the old town of Dubrovnik. Small, with beautiful boutiques style, up t date rooms. The staff is wonderfully friendly. Breakfast, of your choosing, on the roof top, with a view of the city. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Room Tip: I think any room would be equally good, with just 2 rooms on each of 4 floors. But, there is no ele...

We had three nigths visit as a couple in this charming small hotel. Perfect location next to Pile Gate. Wonderful roof terrace to have a brekfasts and dinners, which were very good and view over town is magnificent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very nice and clean and bed was excellent.

My wife and I had a wonderful three-night stay at the Hotel Stari Grad. Of course the key attraction is the location in the heart of the old town. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The highlight was enjoying breakfast on the small (4-6 tables) terrace on the roof. The views of the old town and city walls couldn't have been more spectacular! We also ate a wonderful dinner there one night and enjoyed both the food and the sunset. We sampled some fine local wines in the bar on the first floor. The rooms were simply appointed, clean, and modern. With the windows closed it is very quiet at night. My wife likes fresh air, so we opened the windows and I wore ear plugs, which worked out perfectly.

This is a wonderful place to stay in Dubrovnik, a great refuge of quiet and elegance, away from the tourist crowds in the streets. The rooms are elegantly furnished and very comfortable, the service is wonderful and the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is located just inside the Pile gate so is very easy to reach. Supper on the terrace, weather permitting, is a treat: it was certainly the best meal I had in Croatia. There are only eight rooms, so the hotel is very quiet. An unforgettable experience.

A small & perfectly formed hotel right in the centre of the old town. Rooms are modern and stylish with comfortable bed and very nice shower. Despite being in the centre of town the thick walls and double glazing gave a comfortable and quiet night’s sleep. Weather permitting breakfast is cooked to order and served on the rooftop terrace with a fantastic view of the old town or in the bar when the weather is not so good. Staff very friendly with good English and happy to arrange trips or taxis… be sure to have a mojito in the bar to help you relax on your stay!

Lovely little hotel in the heart of the old walled city, tucked away off the main street. The hotel has eight beautiful, contemporary rooms and the staff were charming helpful and friendly. There is a lovely terrace on the roof with wonderful views across the city. Breakfast was served at the café just around the corner and this was adequate. There was one problem with a nasty smell coming from the shower cubicle (drains) - it wasn't nice, but as we were only staying 3 nights we could live with it. We did mention to the receptionist as we were leaving and were surprised when she said that no-one had mentioned it before as we didn't think we could have been the first guest to notice it. Looking at some of the other reviews - we see other guest had commented on it before! We would recommend this hotel especially as the staff were so lovely, but we think there are a few small issues that need to be addressed.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 4th floor(402) fantastic views, but as there is no lift it was quite a climb!
