“Maritime museum is a good part of the Dubrovnik card”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2012

If you are going to do the city walls (which you of course should), suggest you buy the 1 day Dubrovnik card for 130 kuna per person. Walls are 70 each, throw in this museum for another 40, then you can just hit one other and make it a good deal (i.e. the Rector's palace or the Ethnographic museum). The Maritime Museum (which is in St John's Fortress) has an interesting but digestible history of the maritime trade in Dubrovnik. I'm not that into maritime stuff but still found it interesting. Takes about 30-40 minutes to read the main plaques and check out the models, etc. Also, it's a good stop along your walk of the walls (at the half way point).

“High Jinks”

Fabulous views and not as difficult to climb to as the walls. Well worth the visit. I'd recommend it.

“Definitely worth a visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2012

It was very quiet when I visited here. But it's worth a visit. You get great views of the rest of Dubrovnik. And the fortress itself is very interesting to walk around.

“Enjoyed the Maritime Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2011

We visited in late December and the Maritime Museum, situated in St John's Fortress, was not very busy. I found it to be an interesting and well presented walk through the maritime history of Dubrovnik.
