“Plastic glasses at a high price.”
Review of Cafe Buza

Cafe Buza

Climbed the lovely walls of the city, eventually found this place that I had read about in the lonely planet. Maybe I had built it up to something spectacular.
It's basically a bit of concrete roughly poured on the rocks, with lads in tracksuit bottoms charging too much for drinks in water dispenser plastic cups.

Amazing views on the cliff side, worth the walk up the stairs. Cool music and crashing waves filled the air.

Nice view for sure and yes it's really cool how this little place hangs out on the cliffs on the outside of the massive city walls and yes it's cool how you have to really know what you're looking for just to find it and how you have to crawl through literally a hole in the wall and climb down stairs just to get to this serene scene. But the people working there are totally indifferent and the prices are ridiculous even for a tourist trap. These were the MOST EXPENSIVE drinks I bought during my three weeks in Europe. For four beers, 2 bags of peanuts and 2 bags, they charged me 50 Euros (that's about 65 bucks!)... really? That's more than Vegas! It just felt like a rip off...

Great bar to watch the sun go down and enjoy a couple of beers. Worth getting there a bit early to get the best seats by the edge.

Friends took us there, otherwise we would have never found it. We didn't know what to expect, and were amazed to find this hole in the city wall, and a short narrow pasage that leads onto the rocks outside the walls.
It was clear night, the full moon proovided this beautiful shimmer on the sea.
The rocks were sparsely lit with spotlights.
There were boats cruising below and the nearby island of Lokrum felt as near as if it was on my palm.
There was a jazz live band playing atmospheric music.
I decided this was the most romantic spot in Croatia.

We have gone back several times since, and each time we loved it, but this first experience was the most magical.

Great place for a romantic or a business drink, or to have drinks alone or with friends or even a family (if the kids are older maybe 10+), but not with small children or elderly.

One of the reviewers said that only bear and wine were available. Now they make reasonable but very pricey (80 Kn=£9=11Euro) cocktails, also sell soft drinks, spirits etc.
