We visited at the busiest time as we were restrcited by ferry times from a nearby island . We were instantly stopped by touts trying to get us to take taxi . We agreed as we were time restricted and it is a 4km walk from the port . We shared with others and we were charged varying amounts for the taxi it seemed .
Old town was so busy with mobile cash machines every few yards . Street entertainers instantly stop playing if you are trying to photo architecture and they are part of photo shoot . Costs around equivalent to £1 to use the toilet ! The best parts are the various view points around the city .
A restaurant opposite the port served us cold chips and after we complained they removed the top layer of chips and re heated them , bringing us back less!

This is one incredible place....The wall city with the opportunity to : walk the Wall :. was very special.
Seeing this town as , if time has stood still was something special.
Always seemed to be a lot of entertainment and high quality.
Only problem,, the cruise ship people.
the number are growing by the thousands daily.
HEADS up on the arrival of cruise ships...They only allow 6 per day now...

UNESCO world heritage site for a good reason. There are not many medieval walled cities like this left in the world. Walk on the city walls for an unforgettable experience.

The Old town is amazing. Stone buildings, lovely shops, magnificent harbour and cliff views. Heaps of restaurants and heaps of tourists!
