Dubrovnik is an incredible old city. We have seen many walled cities across Europe and Asia, and this one in beauliful and unique. The white stone that is used in the buildings and on the streets makes a strong impression as well as the condition of much of the structures. On the down side, it is hard to find a time to truly enjoy the location when it is not shoulder to shoulder filled with tourists. They have also learned to take full advantage of the tourist traffic by charging top dollar for food at restaurants. (There are a couple very good less expensive options if you look, see my earlier posts). There is also a nice cafe or two that are on the outside of the wall that will give you a better view than paying to go up on the ramparts.
