“Magical !!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2014

We spent Xmas Eve in the Old Town and the atmosphere was fabulous...People dressed in their best all enjoying a drink with friends and colleagues..Music playing, festivities all around.Traffic free zone so to wander around the streets and view the magnificent buildings was a joy. To top it all the sun was shining too. Will definitely visit again.

“Interesting but avoid the tourist traps”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2014

Lots of history and interesting architecture in the Old Town plus plenty of places to eat and drink. There are some very ordinary tourist shops and some of the food/drink prices are ridiculous, but just go one street back from the main square/road and it seems more reasonable.

Definitely take the cable car up to the top.......it saves you the walk on a hot day, you get stunning views of the old town and the coastline, plus there is a fascinating museum about the war at the top. Also have a drink and/or bite to eat at the cafe with the best views in Croatia!

“Choose appropriate shoes..”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2014

I found some of the walkways a bit slippery, even when it was dry. Many interesting side streets and so many steps - avoidable! Expect to be surrounded by tall locals.
Lots of bars where the locals go, away from the main tourist street. Some shops were closed. Currency exchange rates varied. I would go again.

“Magnificent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2014

Old town is everything Dubrovnik is all about. The moment you enter the town you will fall in love with it. The white buildings and the narrow streets take you back in time, which is broken only when you see bars, cafes and restaurants in every nook and corner. the whole area is closed to traffic so you can enjoy the beauty of the buildings, churches and the squares easily. A place not be missed at any cost.
