“Dubrovnik - Lovrijenac - Superb Castle to guard the old town”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

This is a wonderful example of a medieval castle brilliantly positioned to provide support and protection for the old town of Dubrovnik. The visit here is included in the price of your Old Town ticket or costs 30 Kunas if you don't do the walls. It stands proudly overlooking the town and is a great historical monument and well worth visiting.

“Surprisingly empty”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

It seems most people who buy the ticket for the City Walls are unaware they can use to visit Lovrijenac. When I went there, I was the only one inside. As mentioned before, it was used for filming Game of Thrones. There are some great views of the City Walls and the sea. Not much to see inside, though.

“Worth the climb”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

The most important thing to know is that this fort is INCLUDED in the cost of your ticket to walk the city walls of Dubrovnik!

This fort is situated on a point outside the Pile Gate. It's about a 20 minute walk from the Gate to the entrance to the fort, the last 10 minutes of which is up a formidable set of stairs. But once you're inside the fort, the views over Dubrovnik are probably the best anywhere, maybe except for the city walls themselves. But the best pictures we got during our trip were taken on the terrace of this fort looking back at Dubrovnik. If you come mid-to-late-afternoon, the light is great for portraits with Dubrovnik just behind you.

Don't miss it!

“Great views of Dubrovnik”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

For 30 kuna, you get to explore a great monument. There isn't much information but it is made up for by the views. It is probably the only place where you can photograph Mount Srd, the Old town and Lokrum in one shot. Much quieter than the city walls and well worth a visit.

This place also double as The Red Keep in Game of Thrones. There are some fantastic views of Dubrovnik's walls and the Pile Gate
