“Nice view, that's all.”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

As with the most places in Dubrovnik, Lovrijenac has a very nice view of Dubrownik from its top but there is not much in it.

It is well preserved, so the historic ambience is there. Knowing that some scenes of the Game of Thrones TV series might empower this atmosphere for you. It is not as crowded as other attractions so this is a plus.

Apart from those things, there are no special attractions in the castle apart from the ability to go to the top and watch the Old Town from another perspective.

Still, worth a visit as it is so close to the Old Town but if you are very short on time, you wouldn't miss much if you don't go there.

“Quieter than the walls, great views”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

Myself and my son took a quick jaunt up here after visiting the city walls as it's included in the ticket price (and I'm a GOT fan). Steep ascent is rewarded by an excellent view of the old city. Much quieter and in some ways more enjoyable the the city walls themselves.

“think of it as a freebie...”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

I say that because not many people would pay to see it on its own, a little out the way, maybe think its too much of a climb and well its just a fort. However, most people will do the city walls walk so keep hold of that ticket as it gets you entrtance to the fort.

Ok so your contemplating now going, the walk isnt that bad, its a nice bit of exercise taking the steps up the hill to the fort however once there you will have a fantastic view of the city only paralleled by the cable car ride (and theres no cable obstructions and generally far less people too vying for a view/photo). The view aside, another potential reason for certain people who may consider this is that it was also used as the red keep in Game of Thrones, so theres some interest for those who like to see actual filming locations.

pros: freebie entrance (for those paying for city walls who may not realise its included)
great views, film location (for those interested)

cons: none really - although the hill steps may be a bit too much for some

“Best Views of Dubrovnik”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

This fort by itself is not the best but the views of the walls of Dubrovnik are the best here. The old Fort will be a small hike from the city too which will show you a small hidden place for swimming without too many people.

The ticket for the walls will allow you entrance here.

“Amazing views of Walls from here!”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

This is a must-see in my opinion - the views of the walls from above are breathtaking! The walk to the top is not hard - its steep, but over soon. The day we went was drizzling, but I wanted the view on a sunny day so bad that I went back the next day and when it was nicer and ran up again to take some more. So glad I did, the photos are my favorite from the trip. My husband just sat at a cafe outside the area and waited 15 minutes for me.
