Liked being just outside old town.Disliked crowds in city from cruise ships making the centre very busy from 9.30 -4.00

Thank Carol H

This area was very unexpected in our trip. The color of the water and the beauty of the architecture was a photographers heaven. What a great day we spent here in Dubrovnik!

The ancient city walls of Dubrovnik are unique - they enclose the old city and offer spectacular views of the sea and adjacent islands and the ships and the boats in the bay. A walk on the city wall is well worth 90 cuna ( around $17 ) ticket - the views are amazing whether of the old town and the port, or the pristine blue Adriatic sea below. It is a treat to the senses, a nice one hour walk and a good place to take pictures. There are many steps and ups and downs, so people who have difficulty walking have to be extra careful. The walk on the wall can be crowded, so if one chooses the time carefully the scenery could be better enjoyed.

Absolutely was so much more than we could have imagined. Enter through the gate and an ancient city awaits. So pretty and amazing.

We had a tour guide for a half day overview of Dubrovnik and she gave us great advice to wait until 6:00 p.m. to walk the ancient city walls, because many of the cruise ship passengers are back on borad by that time. We took the advice and spent 6-7:30 in the evening walking the entire length of the walls and thought it was well worth the effort. Also, the heat was a little bit less oppressive in the early evening. Well worth the entrance fee and the effort!!
