Well worth doing, even if history, photography and admiring the scenery is not for you. Yes you can queue for tickets at peak times, but the sales are efficient. The one-way system means the lowest parts are seen first (seaward side) and you can opt out at two points before the steepest parts.
There are a few tiny tourist shops on the route and at least two places to stop for a drink.
If it rains as it did last week take shelter, do not try to keep going - why? The pathway gets very slippery and it's best to be safe. My wife watched the rain cascade off and flow along the pathway.
