“Rooms with a view to paradise”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

Spent a week here in 2011 at what I can only describe as a fantastic hotel.
Being built onto the face of a hill, every room looks out over the Adriatic.
The hotel runs a free shuttle to the old town gates which is fantastic, but even if you miss it, the local bus service drops right outside the hotel entrance.
Situated at the head of the hillside, this gem of a place is not surrounded by other hotels and neighbours, so benefits from being in a perfect setting.
A fabulous place to use as a base to explore Croatia & Montenegro.
Staff are wonderfully helpful, courteous and have always got a smile on their faces.
Breakfast on the outside terrace is fantastic.
Couple of bars in the hotel, each with their own character, so choice is available.
All in all, I loved it and would go back in a heartbeat - great place

Room Tip: Go for higher floors to get best advantage of the views

Conference again ;) But mainly all amenities of the hotel were checked. Quite attentive staff. Welcoming from the parking and very beginning. There was an issue with my reservation but they did their best to solve it.
Good food - regular, conference, coctail... I read issues regarding the location...yes it is away from downtown but that has certain advantages. And it cannot be expected either to have good hotels only in the the town or to have this size hotels under the Old Town walls. It is important that is quite easy to find this hotel.
Great pool area including bar and staff. Great time. Planning a proper vacation there. Recommend.

This is a lovely 5 star hotel in Dubrovnik, about 15 min away from the old town. The hotel is great-pool area, absolutely amazing Spa, restaurant etc. We have stayed there twice and keep going back due to the excellent customer service we have been receiving.
The views from the room are priceless and the Yve Roche shower gel is a pure delight.

We stayed for one night at the beginning of November and it was exactly what we needed after a tiring week in Croatia. The initial welcome from Reception was first rate and the room was excellent with a stunning view of the headland. We were lucky to be around with a bright blue sky and a storm brewing so we sat transfixed watching the waves breaking over the rocks below (whilst eating the complimentary plate of fruit!)
With 2 hours to kill before dinner we padded up to the swimming pool in our bathrobes. There was only 2 other people in the entire leisure complex so we had the sauna/steam/jacuzzi and large pool pretty much to our selves. The entire side window maintains the same stunning view as of before so we did not feel too hard done by.
The usual dinner buffet was not on -probably due to low resident numbers so we took the fixed menu option in the restaurant-which at around £20.00 per head was very good value.
We fell asleep qiuickly to the sound of the waves below in the very comfortable bed. For breakfast the large room was back open and offering a large range of options -including the eggs cooked to order.I asked a waiter for gluten free bread and he went away for a couple of minutes. I feared the worst but he arrived back with a basket full of freshly toasted GF bread-so full marks there.
The wonderful lady on reception checked us out efficiently and within 30 minutes we were at Dubrovnik airport feeling sorry for the people trying to find something decent to eat.
We shall return to the Palace hotel-we have now tried all the 5 star hotels in Dubrovnik and this is our favourite.

We stayed there in June and the hotel was full. We liked our room, but at the breakfast was too many people so we had to stay in a line to get eggs and another food. And all tables were busy, we had to sit with an old man.
Also have to tell its not a place for quiet rest. You can hear everything what's going on outside.
Next time we will stay at another hotel.

Dubrovnik Palace IS out of the way. On the one hand that's a good thing because you get uninterrupted views of the Adriatic and it also means a restful night's sleep. On the other hand, it does mean you can't just 'pop out' for a meal in the old town for instance as its quite a distance away. The major plus is the local bus ends and starts its route right outside the hotel and takes you to the old town. You can buy bus tickets from reception.

I agree with some of the reviewers here on the hotel staff. Some were absolutely lovely but reception in particular could do with a personality transplant. They weren't rude but they did not smile nor welcome us which for a 5 star hotel is the least to be expected.

Back to the actual hotel, the panoramic views from the bar are amazing - the bar and it's staff were also good. Every room has a balcony and a view of the sea which is breathtaking to wake up to. The rooms are pretty small but clean and well laid out.

Breakfast in the main restaurant was excellent and the chefs and staff there were very nice, helpful and friendly.

The hotel has a really nice outdoor pool as well as a heated indoor pool and spa. There are several restaurants too.

Ignoring the reception staff I would return for a short break at the Dubrovnik Palace just to pamper myself in the spa and I would also recommend it to others.

we had a wonderful time at the hotel. we liked the position on a headland with glorious views over the sea and the islands. walking in the pine woods was great. Swimming in the sea was wonderful although the entries could have done with a regular scrub as they got slightly slippery. Contrary to other views we enjoyed being out of the old town- the bus starts right outside the hotel and it is about 15 mins into the city. we felt able to pop in and out whenever we wanted. The lifts were occasionally crowded but we only had to wait a couple of times over the 2 weeks for a second lift. The pool area was large and there were lots of loungers- yes people did put their towels out early in the day but we were always able to find somewhere easily most days and, when we couldn't, the pool attendants were happy to sort things out for us. The breakfast was ok but we weren't tempted by the evening buffet. we ate i the bistro where the freshly caught fish was delicious. The pool side restaurant was also good at lunchtime although slightly pricy. Many evenings however we walked down the hill into the small ton where there were lots of good and cheap restaurants. a whole, freshly caught sea bass for £8 was remarkable and wonderful! the rooms were clean and spacious and the views from the balcony were just fantastic. we found the staff friendly and helpful on every contact. altogether it was a great holiday and the hotel was just right for us!

Room Tip: all the rooms hav great sea views and sunsets!
