Situated in a quiet location, yet with easy access to Dubrovnik Old Town ( the no. 4 bus stops just outside and costs approx £1.50 for a single journey) this hotel is ideal for those seeking a refuge after a busy day's sightseeing. There are excellent spa facilities, two outdoor pools and one indoor with plenty of space for sunbathing or lounging. A healthy eating restaurant enables you to keep track of the calories!
Standard rooms are fairly spacious with plenty of storage for clothes etc - ours had a sea view and a good sized balcony. The shower needs some careful handling as its situation halfway along the bath renders the glass screen virtually useless so that water cascades on to the bathroom floor. We had to ask for extra towels to mop up the wet floor! The hair dryer is effective for drying, but not styling hair, so you may like to bring your own. And if you like tea or coffee in your room you will have to ask "Guest Relations" for a kettle and provide your own tea, coffee and milk . This does seem a little penny pinching on the part of the hotel - I believe superior rooms do have tea and coffee making facilities.
Food at the hotel is plentiful and varied (we were on half board) although sometimes overcooked (especially the breakfast bacon!) We would have liked a pot of coffee on our table at breakfast, it often tasted strong and stewed when poured from a flask.
Sunsets viewed from the "Sunset Lounge" were spectacular and this made for a pleasant way to enjoy an aperitif before dinner. Don't expect any accompanying nibbles, however, or petit fours with your after dinner coffee.
Hotel staff, for the most part, were cheerful and obliging, especially the restaurant staff, who always greeted us with a smile, and the "Guest Relation" staff who helped us arrange a trip to Korcula and advised on the bus to Cavtat, both worth doing by the way.
It was unfortunate that while we stayed at the hotel two conferences took place and although a note was left in our room warning us that security would be heightened we were not prepared for the surly security men, sniffer dog in reception, policemen on the roof or airport style security immediately inside the hotel entrance. After a long day sightseeing it was not pleasant to have to wait to have our bags xrayed before walking through a metal detector, or to find, on occasion, that we could not access the lift. We did make our feelings known at Reception but were told that we had been warned of increased security.
Dubrovnik Old Town is a beautiful, atmospheric city. Make the most of it by investing in a Dubrovnik card which can be pre purchased online. We bought a 3 day one which gave us plenty of time to visit all the museums we wanted to. Unless you are really interested in natural history, give that one a miss and spend more time browsing around the side streets. The card comes with a bus card, valid for 10 journeys (you are not limited to 3 days) and this alone more than covered the cost of the Dubrovnik card, 160 kunars when we bought ours.
You might consider taking a warm top and waterproof, we needed both when we visited in May.

Room Tip: As the rooms are built under reception, ask for a higher room with sea view. Take your own tea and c...

Dear Guest,

thank you for your detailed review and especially for all the comments you've made. They are very useful and very appreciated.

I would also like once again to apologize for the security measures you experienced in our hotel. During your stay we had in a hotel a very senior official and protocol insisted on a maximum level of security. Unfortunately, x-ray on the hotel entrance could not be avoided. Hotel lobby was actually the only part of the hotel where you could feel uncomfortable, as all other parts and facilities were on disposal as usual.

Thank you once again for staying with us and we hope we will have the pleasure to welcome you again.

Sincerely yours,

We stayed recently at DP and have not got a bad word to say about the place . The rooms were lovely , breath taking views from the terrace and the hotel is beautiful , the lounge areas , pool areas and terraces are impeccable . The staff are very helpful and pleasant no matter what time of day or night you require their service . We did te walking tour of Dubrovnik old town which was fascinating , walked the city walls and visited the many churches and museums , again all very interesting places . we also did the day trip to Mostar , which is a very long day but I think a very worthwhile trip . Not really a holiday destination if you have small children as the hotel isn't really geared for children and the area lends itself more to sightseeing than fun and frolics on a beach . Overall lovely place , lovely people . great holiday .

This hotel was beautiful, everywhere seemed to have a sea view. I believe all rooms have sea-view, the restaurants, the gym, the pool, bars everywhere was just wonderful. Reception was up on the higher floors and looked out to the sea, this took a little getting used to when using the lift to go to higher floors were actually below! However the staff were great, everyone speaks great english. Although this is probably a good 45min-1hr walk to the old town, the hotel is still within walking distance to lapad beach and some small restaurants.
The number 4 bus straight outside the hotel takes you into old town, the very last stop. its frequent probably every half hr and it cost 12kuna each way per person so really cheap. Bus runs til 1am. I would stay at this hotel again it was beautiful.
Excellent breakfast with wide range of cold meats, continental, english. You can even choose your own omlette and they cook for you while you wait. 3 bars, including a beach bar.

Room Tip: I believe all rooms have sea-view.

Great hotel mostly due to its great location. Have a front row seat to the fabulous sunset, whether from your room or any of the existing restaurants. Accomodations are roomy and quiet, and your can fall sleep at the rhythm of the waves crashing down below. The quality of the food is good to excellent depending on where you eat and your own personal taste. The hotel should work at promoting the restaurant, other than the cafeteria. We had great meals there during our stay but there were, at time, few patrons hence lacking in atmosphere. The conference facilities were excellence as well. As for other comments, one of the drawback resided in the fact that in order to control/stop the air conditioning, one had to slightly open the patio door. I would definitely return for the calm, the surrounding and the view! The closeness of the old town is also a definite plus...close enough to access at will, far enough to retreat to the beautiful location.

I stayed here for 3 nights very recently, and I was really impressed. They upgraded us to a suite on arrival, which was really well equipped, 2 enormous bathrooms (one each!) a terrace with gorgeous sea view and the obligatory evening chocs on the pillow.
The staff at the hotel were great (excluding one grumpy barman) and it was usefull to have guest relations in reception, as they recommended local restaurants, bus times etc.
There werent a great deal of restaurants around the hotel, as its on a peninsula, but the bus stops right ouside the hotel, and takes about 10 mins to the old town, where you are spoilt for choice. It costs about £1.20 one way, and runs regularly.
The pool bar at the hotel was a fab spot to soak up the sun, It was quite expensive, but worth it to sit and watch the sun go down, or have a dip in the jacuzzi.
The main bar in the hotel is a bit grim at night and reminded me of an airport lounge, so I would recommend venturing out after sunset. I went with a friend, and we felt perfectly safe walking around at night.
Breakfast at the hotel was brilliant, great choice, and lovely bright room with sea views. Service was excellent.
I would recommend this hotel for location, service and standards. Nice retreat from the crowds in the Old town

my friend and I came back from this amazing place about two weeks ago and I have been dreaming of it ever since. I have never been to such a fabulous hotel with such amazing views, great food, kind staff and a really welcoming atmosphere. I have stayed in five star hotels around the world and this was the cheapest yet the best! It is in the most stunning location, it is lovely and quiet at night yet not far from the city - a bus taked about 15 minutes and goes to and the old town from outside the hotel. The photos of the sunset, the sea. the pools - they don't even do it justice, it's better in real life. I look forward to coming back soon and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking perfection.
