“A very nice getaway from Dubrovnik”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

Just 15 min from Dubrovnik, Lokrum is the perfect getaway when it gets too busy and crowded in the old town. We planned to spend a few hours but ended up staying for the very last ferry back, enjoying the peace and quiet there. Strolling around, having icecream and coffee in the pleasant ' beach bar', swimming in clear bluegreen sea, watching the dozens of peacocks - and, of course, spotting some Game of Thrones locations. If in Dubrovnik for a few days, this is a highly recommended daytrip.

“Masseuse no longer there on Lokrum...but now one in Old town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

A masseuse apparently used to be in the olive grove behind the monastery. The waiter at the restaurant told me she moved to Zagrebg so isn't there any more. However, I found an excellent one, Janet Alilovic is in the Old Town. Arrange by phone or email DubrovnikMassage@me.com.

I had an hour massage from her today and she was incredible. A well-trained professional who came from 12 years doing massages in Toronto. In all the many massages I've had never has someone immediately known which muscles needed help and them attacked them (that's good).

You enter her place at Getaldiceva 5 (3 streets from the main gate) thru a tour shop, she's upstairs but has a placard outside on the alley.

“Island paradise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

The ferry to Lokrum is cheap and easy from Dubrovnik's Old City (60 kuna per son round trip - about 10 USD) and you will not regret spending a day here. My sister and I hiked up to the old French fort atop the hill (worth it for the incredible view, if you're physically able to climb uphill for about 20 minutes), jumped off the rocks for a refreshing swim on the western side of the island, explored the monastery ruins, and had a picnic with the most amazing scenery. You can easily spend a full day here, or just a few hours. Do NOT miss Lokrum if you have more than a few days in Dubrovnik!

“Island of peacocks”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2013

We really enjoyed everything about the island. The wild peacocks are fun to watch. The small lake was beautiful. We only had a short time there but would have loved to stay for the afternoon. Make sure to take bathing suits.
