“Excellent location, comfy stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2012

We arrived to a cup of coffee and homemade cake, much welcomed after a long drive! Parking was quickly sorted for our oversize truck and we were showed to our spacious and clean room. Delightfully comfortable! Great location too, just a few minutes walk down the steps to the gate into the walled city. We paid extra for breakfast on our last day and were surprised at how many options there were, all fresh too! Anita, our land lady was very helpful when we needed the emergency dentist too! We really enjoyed our stay here and will definately book again if we come to Dubrovnik in the future!

Room Tip: We had the double room at the front. Although it looks over the road we couldn't hear the traffi...

This is a tiny rustic guest house with 3 rental rooms. It's a 10 minute (albeit down MANY stairs like most of Dubrovnik) walk from the Pile gate of the spectacular old walled city. We stayed in off season and booked a twin room, but as there were no other guests we were given two rooms at no extra charge - can't beat that for service!
There is a tourism information/booking office immediately below, a small supermarket and a bakery close by and, if you are feeling adventurous, Pinky's bar serves unimaginably strong coffee, and drinks late into the night.
The front room is just beautiful - lacy curtains over green shuttered windows, double bed with stylish orange sheets against hand painted white furniture, rustic stone walls and wooden beamed ceiling. En suite bathroom has a bath and shower. It faces the main street, but noise was not a problem after dark.
The twin room faces the back of the house, onto a small rustic courtyard garden, and is less impressive but comfortable and totally adequate with en suite bathroom (shower).
Being low season, the owner was away but her friends came in to let us and make sure were comfortable. Also because of low season food was not available at the hotel, but there are so many great restaurants and bakeries nearby we hardly missed that.
A previous review criticised the electrical fittings - we found them standard for Dubrovnik. We also found that if we started conversations with a little (badly pronounced) Croatian, everyone was very friendly and helpful.
"Dobra Dan" (Good Day) and "Hva -La" (Thank you) and a smile get you a long way....
Altogether a great stay and highly recommended.
Also we recommend eating at the fish restaurant in the old city harbour, Lokanda Peskarija - great seafood and not overpriced as much as a lot of the places along the central Stradum.

Room Tip: Take the front room if you want a double or single - it has everything you might be looking for!

We stayed here and checked out immidiately the second day. The owner had messed up our booking and given us a better room than we had booked, then blamed us (by banging agressively on our door and shouting at us in the corridor). The room admitedly was very clean as was the rest of the place. My partner needed to use the toilet when we arrived after a long drive from Montenegro, this wasn't possible because we were a couple of hours early there was no toilet in the place that she was allowed to use. At night there were scratching noises, noises from other rooms which carried... really bad nights sleep. Also see photos for unsafe electrics in the room. We checked out and found somehwere else to stay. After our arrival back in the uk recieved 2 offensive emails directly from the owner. One of them accusing us of making the noise, the other issues were personal attacks on us. Unprofessional, over priced for the location (get something closer to the old town) and look up Villa Dubrovnik Garden, yes same address it's all the same place hiding under a different name. My advice Avoid!!

Dubrovnik limestone house is near the old center of Dubrovnik. We booked the large double room with a stunning sea view and a charming interior. Breakfast costs 7euro extra, which is not much comparing to the prices in the old town. Also the price of the room is very honest. To reach the town you need to climb more than 100 stairs, a good work-out, but you can also take the bus.
Room is very clean, we are convinced this is the best deal you can get in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik.
