“Great beach!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2014

Muuuch less crowded than Banje beach, still small but more comfortable. Water is super clear, very clean and blue. Please note, you have to walk down 163 steps to get there, it can get difficult in the sun. To find it, just go to Sveti Jakov church and park in front of it (Zone 2, so 20 kuna per hour), then in the pathway behind the church you will find a sign and the stairs. Walk down those stairs and you're there!

“One of the most beautiful beaches in Dubrovnik”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2014

This is really one of the most beautiful beaches in Dubrovnik, with beautiful view on the island of Lokrum. It is not sandy and not peacful if you're looking for that type of vacation, but it's long and it has a lot of facilities. Avoid if you have stroller, or not in good condition; there is a lot of stairs to reach it!

“Everything included”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2014

This was the most beautiful beach in Dubrovnik (not that there are many). It has a very nice view from the old town, Lokrum island and surroundings.
We went there by car. You follow the road "ulica Frana Supila" and directly after you pass Hotel Argentina (direction from old town to the beach) you take the road to the right until you reach the church. You should pay for parking there (20 kuna/hour and the machine only took coins). As we found out, there was a road after the church (a bit narrow, but most of cars could fit in) and at the end of the road there were the ruins of an old hotel, where we and others parked the car for free. Right there than you take the steps to the beach.

“Simply stunning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2014 via mobile

This place is so beautiful.. A local gem hidden away from tourists. It is beautiful. Beach side cocktails, music, fresh food, cool water and views of old town. This is the sort of beach I was looking for when I came to croatia!

“Be prepared for the stairs!..but what a view when you get there.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2014

We walked from the old town of Dubrovnik to Sveti Jakov beach. The walk is absolutely charming. The villas you see on the way are equisite.

The stairs going down to the beach are plentiful, and once you get down, you will be forever greatful you saw the view and revelled in the clear, blue waters because that will sustain you when you climb back up again to go back to the hotel.

It's worth it! Just do it!
And there is a little cafe/restaurant there that serves a light lunch (unusual in Croatia), great wine and good coffee......so that will help with the motivation.
