We booked through 'Get my guide'. And joined Barba and his team. It was an amazing experience. Can't recommend this enough.

We took the sunset kayaking trip which proved to be an excellent choice. Our guide - Jacob Benedetti was excellent, full of charm, with and intelligent information that made the whole experience more than a physical exercise and experience. Good value and well run. The only thing we didn’t agree with was the visit to the cave which seemed pointless and a waste of time.
All in all though, money well spent and a valued part of our holiday.

If you are relatively comfortable managing a kayak and have already done a walking tour of Dubrovnik, you might want to save your $$$ (playing in Dubrovnik is costly) and go out on your own. This tour was ok, however hubby and I quickly realized that with “cooperative weather” the sea around the city and Lokrum makes kayaking a real pleasure- no crazy winds, waves or currents we couldn’t have managed on our own. However, if you are new to the sport having a guide will provide the comfort needed to give this a try...which I strongly recommend. Just make certain the guide knows you are a newbie, and stay close (which means he might have to slow down).

Sunset tour was great. They not only gave us great instruction on kayaking, but also told us interesting history about the places we saw. They redirected the tour based on traffic which ensured we had a great time and avoided the crowds. Funny, informative, fun and amazing views. Can't recommend enough.

The Adventure Dubrovnik sunset kayak tour was a great way to round off our trip to Dubrovnik.

Mitar and Eddie were great hosts, telling interesting stories and jokes along the way. They kept the group together well, and even my 58 year old mum (who is not confident on the water) felt enthusiastic about the sea by the end! She even said that she wanted to go again!

Loved learning the history and seeing the city walls and Lokrum island from a different perspective.

The tour starts near Pile Gate, and you stop every 15 mins or so for a break on the water and to hear stories from your guides. We went out across to a cave and then around to Sveti Jackov Beach where we had time to snorkel, eat the nice sandwiches and fruit provided (Cheese and Ham, or Cheese and Tomato, or a selection of fruits for those with allergies, like myself), and enjoy the beach. Mitar and Eddie even went out of their way to show us the abandoned hotel nearby and tell us of its history and a bit about its use in Game of Thrones.

Mitar and Eddie were both knowledgeable and friendly, and set a good pace for the group. They also stayed around at the end when we had some wine in the bay and told us about local spots to go to next. The wine was a local Croatia variety and very nice way to end the tour.

If you are booking the sunset tour, I suggest that you take a towel and warm change of clothes for afterwards, as it gets a little bit cooler on the water once the sun goes down. There is a basic changing area, but no toilets at the kayak start point. You can pay about 7 kuna to use the toilet near the information centre (2 mins away.)

Adventure Dubrovnik provide you with waterproof barrels to keep your belongings safe and waterproof. I took a back pack with towel, clothes and sunscreen in, and then used the smaller barrel for my phone, sunglasses and other bits that I wanted easy access too.

We booked the trip via the email on their website, and Allie was very informative and helpful. We paid in cash when we arrived, but you can pay by card in advance (not on the day.)

I would highly recommend Adventure Dubrovnik. There were other kayak tours out on the water at the same time as us, but none of the others seem to take the same time or care as our guides.
