if you are going to have a look around any museums, try this one or the maritime to save time and disappointment. Informing and well laid out, it is also provides around an hours worth of visit time.

We went here on a rainy day as it was included with our Dubrovnik card. The building was beautiful as were some of the displays but there was very little information to explain what things were and when and why they were used. I wouldn't have paid full price to get in and wouldn't go back but it was interesting to see.

If you already have a Dubrovnik card, by all means pay a visit. Otherwise, you will probably regret paying the entrance fee.
The building is worth seeing, but the exhibits are not. There is currently an exhibition relating to the helmet of an Illyrian warrior. You go through several narrow passageways and then comes your 'is this it?' moment - we almost burst out laughing.
All in all, we probably spent less than 15 minutes here and felt that we had seen all we wanted to see.

We only decided to visit the rectors palace because it was included in the dubrovnik card. The dubrovnik card worth buying only if you are going to use the bus tickets and for the city wall, everything else its just waste of time.I was not very impressed with the palace but since it came free with the card i didnt mind.I wouldnt pay anything extra to visit it.

If you have traveled in Europe before you are likely to be a bit disappointed by the Rector's palace. As mentioned in previous reviews- the building is beautiful and impressive but the actual content of the museum as such is lacking. Exhibits consist of hand-carriages, come artworks and furniture- similar to what you might see in any European country, but no guide or explanation is offered and there is nothing distinctly "Croatian" about the experience. If I was going back to Dubrovnik I would probably give it a miss.
