“Cultural context”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

The Rector's Palace gives a glimpse into the architecture and art in a Gothic/Baroque building. You get to see the furnishings and ecclesiastical art. While not a very unique collection s is does give some idea of upper class life in Dubrovnik.

A nice quick visit where you can see some of the art and artefacts from the history of Dubrovnik. Definitely worth a visit.

“Don't expect much that is special.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

If you are staying more than one day in Dubrovnik then it is worth visiting. If you have one one day in the Old Town there are more interesting things to do such as going in and out of the narrow streets, walking on the city walls, taking a boat trip around the city walls, having a coffee in one of the Stradun cafes, etc.

“A revelation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

This was the administrative seat of the Dubrovnik Republic. The revelation that astounded me was that the Rector served for a period of one month only. I wondered how would this operate in our democracies

As you wak through the Palace you soon become aware that you are walking through centuries of time and history and wondered about the type of persons who served here. The architecture of the time conveys the impression of great artists who both designed and built the Palace
