The location of this hotel was perfect! The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable, really really nice. We spent 3 nights here and during the day we enjoyed the amazing water views on the lounge chairs, swam in the Adriatic, took in all the beauty of the coast. It’s a quick 10 min ride to Old City Dubrovnik, a lovely seaside walk on the promenade to Lapad Bay (which is a must visit also).
If your looking for relaxation this is where to stay, far enough away from the hustle of the tourist areas, but close enough with a quick taxi ride.
The staff was extremely helpful, hotel was spotless, I highly recommend it.

We had booked the Neptun through Booking.com, but when we arrived we were actually booked into the Royal Palm Hotel which is one of the hotels in the Importanne Resort.
.
Aside from that, we had a beautiful room (a suite actually with two bathrooms, two wardrobes and a small lounge). We had booked a panoramic sea view double, which indeed we had. A stunning view of the whole bay from a lovely veranda. The room had good facilities, decent hairdryer, plenty of toiletries and a huge bed (really very wide) and it was quiet for a decent night's sleep.

When you arrive at the reception you are given a map of the resort and imagine you will never find your way around, but its very simple. There are four restaurants, nine pools (we only swam in one!) and you can also swim in the sea from the rocks in front of the hotels (I didn't fancy that as there are some sharp looking rocks! But good for those who enjoy sea swimming and kids with snorkels)

Breakfast was served in The Castile restaurant, this is self service (even though an a la carte menu is mentioned n the hotel information I never saw one). The breakfast is varied, hot food and cold meats, cheeses, bread etc. It is not freshly cooked, the scrambled egg lived up to my expectation of buffet scrambled egg ie thick and yellow (why do hotels bother?). On the whole the breakfast was good and you could have as much as you wished. Service at breakfast was a bit hit and miss, we waited quite a while to get tea and coffee even though there appeared to be plenty of staff.
The staff were generally friendly and hard working in the hotel.

The pool we swam in was fresh water and adults only. The water was clean and the pool area was also clean with an ample number of loungers and sunshades. As said there are nine pools, some are adults only and others are family orientated.
There is also a spa offering various beauty treatments. I didn't use the spa so cannot comment on this, but it looked very pleasant.

The hotel never appeared busy even though we were told it was very full (we couldn't get a late check out!). I think the sheer size of the resort allows for this, we never knew where all the people were!!

I was pleasantly surprised by the Neptun (or Royal Palm, I am still not sure where we were placed). The place is spacious, clean and served by decent restaurants (we ate at two)
Nothing negative, apart from the lack of late check out, but that's just me. I think, whenever you book ask for a sea view. It really is worth the extra money and we saw some of the other views which weren't very good and you need to see the fantastic sunsets that Croatia has to offer each evening. Try the Bluesky Lounge for a really great view of this.

Room tip: Always go for a sea view. Worth the cost.

I visited the 5* Royal Blue hotel part of Dubrovnik Importanne resort back in July 2017 and was not planning to come back again due to bad service experienced at that super modern, architecturally superb hotel (see my review).

However, finding good accommodation in Dubrovnik in August is far from easy and with a group of friends we decided to give a chance once again to Neptun Hotel (4*) part of the same resort. The price paid through booking.com was by no mean cheap. 275 € for bb and additional 10€ per day.

First impression of a hotel is its front desk. Although booking.com explains that credit card remains at hotel’s disposal as collateral in case of cancellation or other accidentals, the front desk officer asked me to write my credit card details and leave them at the custody of the hotel for 5 years (see the form at attached photo). I rejected and asked to block a certain sum as a collateral and at the same time to settle the room by advance charge. The whole check-in process took good 20-25 minutes.

The room (see photos)

Modern design and furniture and pleasant decoration.

Wardrobe in mess with random hangers and couple of torn tags and a earbud left in from previous guests and not cleaned by house keeping.

Safe deposit locked and not ready for use.

One of drawers in drawer chest broken with nails exposed.

Silicon (or similar stain) on a bathroom wall probably from torn hanger.

Shower handle missing a part.

Only dark curtains with no transparent set of curtains to provide privacy at the room.

Amenities:

The resort offers several beaches (mainly rocky), swimming pools with fresh and sea water as well as several restaurants. When I wanted to add a charge from one of beach bars to my room, surprisingly I realized that the front desk has never taken a collateral from my credit card. After a brief discussion with the front desk I was reminded with a tone of warning by f/o clerk that “I refused to leave a written authorization at the time of check in”. After a brief discussion with front office manager I simply realized once again that Importanne resort is an excellent ideal destination for all inclusive guests and cannot care less (except high charges) about more specific customized expectations by individual travelers used to high level of service and value for money elsewhere. That said, probably only all inclusive guests are paying right price for that level of service. See a random price for 3 night stay with charter flight from Hannover.

My take: Individual guests are good to compensate a shortfall created by all inclusive guests.

AVOID BY ANY MEAN IN CASE YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY AND EXPECT A SERVICE AT LEVEL OF PRICE PAID.

Spent three nights here in a junior suit, room was very comfortable, beds were great. Bath room is spacious and well stocked. This hotel shares pools and facilities with another three hotels. There are loads of pools, one very secluded outdoor pool just below reception which is great in the afternoon as the sun was shaded by trees. Two pools by the sea that are sea water you can also dive into the sea. There is another pool in the next door hotel, a rooftop pool and bar that has great views and the best place to see the sunset. There is a gym with an indoor pool and sauna. The staff are really lovely and friendly, the breakfast was buffet and good although the cooked bacon and sausages were not the best. The hotel is fab and I will return.

Very very nice. Fantastic stay at the hotel.
We chose the Neptun because we wanted to be on the sea. We were not disappointed. At the time of booking, we didi not realise that the hotel is part of a resort made up of several hotels. At check in in we were told that we could use any of the 7 pools In addition to the pools there are several places where one can get into the sea for a swim which was fantastic!
We had 2 rooms. Both were spotlessly clean and had a glorious view of the sea. Location is great -the number 6 bus stops across the road to the hotel and costs 15 kunas to get to the old town (Pile Gate).
Breakfast was excellent too and the staff very friendly.
Would we chose the hotel again - most certainly.
