Excellent hotel

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed May 17, 2019via mobile
We loved this hotel. Spacious, clean, and a short ride into Old Town by either bus or taxi. We received a free upgrade which was such a nice surprise on our last stop of our honeymoon. Beautiful hotel. We highly recommend.

Our late April to early May 2019 stay was perfection. From the greeting by the gracious doorman, the walk across the spotless, mirror finish polished lobby, to our room steward, this hotel IS ITS PEOPLE. If you seek a luxury experience, value priced, and want your hard earned money respected, this hotel is exceptional.

Check in was easy, swift and efficient. Top notch front desk professionals gave us details without our asking.

Our room was ENORMOUS, immaculate, modern. Superbly maintained bathroom (you could eat off the floor), soft comfy bed, superb views of the Adriatic in the pine trees. Robe and slippers in the room. This was our honeymoon. We were given a surprise of rose petals on our bed, complete with towel swans and hearts. The petals had been individually placed to achieve just the right effect. It was brilliant!

If you don't like the breakfast buffet here, you have issues. It is so complete, so delicious, so fresh, so swiftly stocked, so clean, so perfect - delicious coffee, fresh fruit, and fresh baked goods were exceptional...the chef and staff must work around the clock to achieve this top quality and all the while maintaining a quiet, gracious, and superb professionalism. Their dinner buffet, if you choose that option, is no less amazing. May I say a curried pork dish with red peppers and onions was out of this world. Did we feel spoiled? Yes. SPOILED. This hotel creates a fantasy life through the fabulous work ethic of its staff.

Could you stay in town? Certainly. However, the number 6 bus stops right outside the resort, every 6 minutes or so, for a quick trip to town. Buy a ticket, 15 KN, good for 90 minutes on the bus (credit card or exact cash appreciated) and take the ride. The same bus runs from the Pile Gate to Babin Kuk, stops right outside the resort, and if you desire, you may get off the bus and stop in a grocery or shop along the way and get back on within those 90 minutes. Don't like a bus? A taxi will appear in minutes from a quick call by the desk.

We had some difficulty with a tour we had arranged, not by the staff at the Neptun, that was not as advertised. Guest relations went about getting some of our money back. They did not have to do this. This professionalism is supremely impressive to me and we were so grateful.

I was also given white roses upon our departure. I was overwhelmed. This kind of hospitality is disappearing yet it lives in the Neptun staff. Thank you, thank you!

We booked the hotel driver for our trip to the airport. Yet one more magnificent experience with an immaculate vehicle, and a driver who was ready to share his love of Croatia as well as his enormous life experience outside of Croatia. We would have enjoyed spending more time hearing his opinions and his incredible history beyond our swift trip to the airport.

Yes, this is a long review. However, one would have to pay twice as much to get half as marvelous service in a luxury hotel in many countries. We feel that superior service like this should be well recognized in an era of the technologically impatient world. This human touch and excellence is what we all desire. This is THE place to restore yourself and enjoy Dubrovnik.
This exceptional staff is as follows:

Kreso---At Reception... THE BEST....Thanks for the rose petals and arranging for my robe. Our views were exceptional.
Christina (I may have spelled your name incorrectly - our notes were a bit messy)
Valentina (Guest Relations)
Mia (Guest Relations) - do you ever rest?
IN THE TERRACE RESTAURANT:
Kova
Velimir (Chief Chef)
Karlo
Josipa (Lola)
Aleksandra
Antun (Manager)
Vedran (Manager)
Rajka (Hardest working person I know) who also arranged a box lunch for our trip to the airport. We adore you!

Zdravko
Andrej
Forgive us if we forgot a name or two. Thank you for the magnificent and precious memories.

Room tip: Just ask. There are no bad rooms in my opinion and we had two different ones as we split our stay with a trip to Split!

Neptun hotel is one of the hotels which are part of Importanne resort, located on Babin kuk peninsula near old town. There is a beautiful walking area in front of hotels, next by the sea. So you can walk to the bars or go down to the beach.

Rooms are very comfortable, most of them have wonderful sea view.

Great breakfast, nice pool, but most of all, pleasent and professional staff made this hotel (and whole resort) my perfect destination to stay in Dubrovnik, and I'm sure I'll come again

Clean, spacious rooms, great service, good value, fantastic views, great food. I seriously don't know what else one can ask for. Plus the benefits of being part of a big resort, which means you can use other facilities (restaurants, spa, etc) as well. Very highly recommended!

The hotel is super clean and the location is great to sightsee. Bus stop near to get to Old Town. Walks from hotel to seafront bars and restaurant. Zoe restaurant at the hotel had lovely food. It is not in the centre of things, but near enough to get to. Don't go half board. If you want to relax, lots of pool areas available including some for 18+. Breakfast was a nice buffet. I would easily return again and again. It has lots of steps in Dubrovnik overall.

Large spacious rooms, interchangeable amenities like Spa & pool with the other hotels along the coast. Great hotel, great location, fabulous views, good service.
Reasonably easy connections into Old Town and the coastal walk into neighbouring Lapad is beautiful.
