“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013

Me, my 2 brothers and mother spent the last week here in the Neptun. My brothers and I are in our early twenties and we had a family suite which suite us perfectly.
Impeccable service, lovely, clean hotel. Great pool facilities with lovely views.
50m from a bus stop which takes you directly to the old town which we did most evenings or you could walk to the marina for dinner quite comfortably!
Great holiday!
N.B. The holiday organise airport trasfers with a great company at very reasonable rate.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a sea view! Not always worth it in a hotel but this really added to the stay!

I stayed here for 3 nights. It's easy to find (with sat nav) and a shortish distance from the old town. Parking is free. You can easily get a bus to the old town for 12Kn (about £1.50) pp each way by buying tickets at reception.

The hotel is linked to another couple of hotels. There are enough sun loungers either at the pool or the sea and you can borrow beach towels. It's strange that reception and the bars and restaurants are nicely decorated, but our room was very 1990's and was in need of redecoration (there was a splat on the wall above the bed which had been unsuccessfully wiped). We had a balcony over looking the sea, which was great. I was uncomfortable though that you could be shut out on the balcony as it didn't have a handle on that side of the door.

Breakfast buffet was good and varied. If you turned up late, sometimes things had run out and it could take a while for basics (like water) to be replenished. Overall though, it was excellent.

We ate in the beach bar one lunch time, and the chicken burger was good, but the beef burger was poor quality. I was surprised that these were served in takeaway boxes, but it wasn't a problem. We ate in restaurant Zoe which was good, although the monkfish main was disappointingly bland. We also ate in La Castilla which was pretty good (although the chocolate truffle pudding tasted too trufffly). The serving staff throughout the hotel were good.

From booking in to booking out the service was great. On arrival the booking in was smooth and friendly - all information was given including wifi password and we were shown to our room in good style.
Everywhere was spotless and well maintained. Our room on the 7th floor had wonderfull views, the balcony is small but servicable. Four of us could squeeze in for drinks!
Staff were friendly, very polite and happy.
Breakfast is wonderful. Prepared fresh fruit, strawberries and sparkling wine, Juices, cereals, pankakes. Big selection of breads, cakes and pastries. Hot sausages, bacon, scrambeld eggs, boiled eggs, mushrooms, Eggs cooked very quickly to order, fried, scrambled with salmon - ham - etc. - omelletes. Potatoe rosti, vegatbles etc.
Good coffee and tea. Toast. The list goes on.
OK the sausages and bacon are not what you think of as 'english' but they are very good.
If you want british food then stay in Britain!
Evening A La Carte at Zoe's restaurant is nothing special but very nice and well served in nice surroundings. As with everywhere in thisd region the wine is very expensive.

Room Tip: Sea view room and on as high a floor as possible is worth every penny! Pay extra if you have to.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights at the end of our Great Railway Journey. Of all the hotel rooms this was definitely the smallest with a tiny bathroom. For a new hotel we were disappointed. We liked the location and the local bus into town was easy to use and very frequent. The meals in the restaurant were all buffet style and one waitress was particularly gruff.
The food was adequate but nothing special. We liked the infinity pool and the spacious reception area and the barman was very friendly if a little slow. We would go back to Dubrovnik but maybe find another hotel nearer the city.

Just arrived back from a week at the Neptun Hotel with Jet 2, wall to wall sunshine and temperatures of 30 degrees plus every day! We had a brilliant time!! They said it was the first week of their summer. We had a great deal including transfers, dinner, bed and breakfast for under £1,200. NB Dinner is 150 Kuna and the breakfast is 100 Kuna directly from the hotel.
Its a perfect location for getting in and out of Dubrovnic on the number 6 bus, whilst being on what is effectively a private 'beach'. I had thought from Tripadvisor reviews that the hotel was on a cliff and it does have a number of steps down from the restaurant to the beach bar (maybe 15) then 28 steps down from the beach bar to the beach but it was a lot flatter than I expected with large expanses of decking in between the two lower pools and lots of sunbeds and sun umbrellas. There is also some concrete but it sort of blends in with the natural rocks and allows some privacy between the sunbeds. The sea is accessed directly from two, new looking, short ladders (like in swimming pools), there is no actual beach in the hotel and no where to paddle. People were snorkling but its a bit limited. While we were there the sea had calmed so as long as you are ok about swimming in deep sea then no problem. There is good water quality and a life guard around. There is a beach just outside the hotel grounds which is very small and busy. There is a larger one by the President Hotel next door (round the corner) which was full to bursting. Probably wouldn't recommend this hotel for small children or people with severe walking difficulties due to steps and direct access to deep sea water.
The Neptun hotel itself is 8 stories high and gives you fantastic views from all sides but we preferred the South facing sea 'front' view once we were moved from the East/road facing view. Thanks to Stipe on reception for sorting that (he's lovely!) The rooms in the Neptun are getting to the point where they need refreshing but for a good deal and for such a lovely place its not a problem. The site has a number of unobtrusive other accommodations which include newly built suites (reviews on these are fantastic we heard but I guess they would be more expensive). The benefit is that the public space in the hotel is a good quality to match the newly built areas so it adds value to the stay. Great for a wedding.
The Mediterranean Buffet food was great and there were mountains of fresh fruit and salad. Bowls of ripe apricots, strawberries, pineapple and melon as well as bananas, apples and oranges etc. There was a good range of main courses with fish and steak etc. The hot cooked vegetables were very soft. The seedy bread was fantastic.
We would recommend the 3 island trip and the boat to Cavtat harbour both which we booked at the OLD harbour in Dubrovnik. The 3 islands trip was much cheaper there 250 K instead of 400 K with the rep. Cavtat is lovely and can be reached by local bus. We also went to Mostar which was fantastic but I don't recommend it if you have difficulty walking as it is all cobbles and slippy limestone and is 35-50 degrees - very hot!!

Room Tip: The West/island facing rooms have a fantastic view of the sunsets but would get no sun for most of t...

I never leave reviews; however, this hotel and its staff deserve a whole load of praise.

We visited Neptun Hotel as a group of 8 women aged 26-50 for 5 days from 25th May 2013 and we truly had the most amazing time.
The hotel rooms and hotel was spotless, the breakfast was great and the staff were very accommodating to all of our needs and requirements.
This hotel has the best of both worlds in that you have the swimming pool, sunbathing area as well as just a short trip (about 10 mins via bus) to the city centre of Dubrovnik.

Make sure you visit Zoe's restaurant and East West Beach Club for a meal during your stay. Amazing food, not overly expensive and top class service.

Would definitely come here again as a couple or with a group of girls. Wouldn't recommend for families with young children as there isn't much for them to do.

Of all of the hotels on Lapad, this has to be the one with the best views, best facilities, best location.; Other hotels might not have everything, but this has 3 pools, direct access to the sea, great food, great spa, almost beside bus stop, fantastic views, friendly staff, all that you need for relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Room Tip: All Rooms have a sea view
