“Great Location, Great view!”
Reviewed May 2, 2014

I had a very nice stay at Villa Adriatica! Room was clean and spacious, i didnt have a view but the terrace is open to all guests and is nice to sit and enjoy the view... Location is great as the hotel is steps away from the city walls... The staff was also very welcoming and helpful in supporting me with my visit and travel plans as well as customizing tours! They also offer airport transfer pick up service which was convenient... Thank you for a nice stay!

We choose this accommodation mainly because of the view from the outdoor terrace and its even exceed our expectation the moment we stepped out to the terrace outside our room. The view is so spectacular and if you look around its hard to find another place that can match this view and the price. When we arrived in Dubrovnik , the weather was really bad, heavy rains , strong winds that we can't even step out to the open air terrace that's is outside our room but luckily the weather gets better the next day that we can even witnessed sunrise from the terrace.
Our room with antique furniture and a king size double bed with a door open to terrace was not as not small as mentioned , with satellite TV and a fridge. The common kitchen downstairs allow us to prepare breakfast to be enjoyed at the terrace. The location is just next the the Ploce gate make it quiet enough for a good sleep and yet convenient enough to move around the old town. Its only 8 mimutes walk from Pile Gate, where the bus stops and there is a bakery and a supermarket just 2 doors away. Dubrovnik is expensive but you can find some cheaper restaurant outside the old town. You can finish all the sightseeing within the old town in 1 day but we initially booked 3 nights , thinking that we can spend more time enjoying the view form the balcony but a last minute cancellation of our flight resulted we have to leave 1 day earlier and the owner was kind enough to return us the rate of 1 night that we have paid upon arrival. Special thanks to the lovely lady working at their travel agency who help us to call the airline to make alternative arrangement of our flight.
It a pity that we have to leave early as we really enjoyed Dubrovnik and our stay here. Hope to be back again.

i have to agree with the reviewer 0Travel Time). It is a crowded 2 star room with a five star location and view. We too chose to buy bread, fruit, wine and cheese and marvel at our stunning views.
i loved the location at the Ploce entrance--NO STAIRS to get to the place and easy stairs to the room. The inconveniences were not having a coffee maker or even a hot water pot to make coffee in the room. THere was a kitchen downstairs but no way to make your own coffee or tea. too much useless furniture, dubious duvets of rough fabric--we wondered how often these and the spreads were cleaned. Simpler would have felt cleaner . We had to wait long for our room to be cleaned. The staff owners were great although some of their help could be less than gracious.

Room Tip: i'd say only rooms 1 and 2 with direct deck access would be my choices.

This is one of my favorite places we have ever stayed! But it is not for everyone, it is a two star room with a five star location and view.

Positives: The view and location! The small rooms open onto a large patio overlooking the sea. We would buy a bottle of wine with cheese and bread and sit on the patio not believing we could be so lucky. Our neighbors from the next room joined us for a bottle of wine one night. And the location is right outside the city gates. The location cannot be beat.

Negatives: The room is small and old - but very clean. You need to turn on a hot water heater an hour before your shower. No amenities, not even soap. The owner speaks limited English, so you do not get a lot of help negotiating the town. If you need a large fancy room with amenities skip this place. There could be a problem if you are sharing the patio with loud people. We enjoyed our neighbors in the next room.

Room Tip: Two of the rooms open directly on to the large patio. All of the rooms include patio access, but the...

This villa is right beside Ploce Gate so the walled city is almost literally at your doorstep. Our party stayed in 3 of the available rooms - 1, 2 and 4. Rooms 1 and 2 had direct access on to a fantastic terrace which had stunning views over the harbour and out to sea. The other rooms have access to the terrace via steps from the ground floor. One of our rooms had a small kitchen and so having breakfast or cups of tea on the terrace was easy to do. The rooms are small but adequate for the purpose with large double beds and ample wardrobe & drawer space. The bathrooms were small but included a shower, wc and washhand basin within the limited space. The rooms were very clean and housekeeping was good. This is a superb location but people should be aware that there can be quite a lot of noise in the early- mid hours of the morning as revellers make their way home from the taxi-stand outside the doors of the villa. There is little the owners can do about this. Altough double/triple glazing helps, it does not completely drown out the noise. The owners are really friendly and will do anything to make your stay enjoyable and as comfortable as possible. They even invited us to a family and friends gathering on the terrace to mark the beginning of the towns festival on 10th July. I would recommend this to all on the basis of its location, price and friendliness of the owners. Don't expect luxurious fixtures and fittings. Expect well presented vernacular accomodation, an unbeatable location and friendly hosts and you will not be disappointed

Room Tip: Rooms 1 & 2 have direct terrace access - go for these though room 4 has a small kitchen

We write this review very reluctantly – because this place should be kept a closely guarded secret. As others have said, the location (literally the first building outside the Ploce Gate) and the views, are unparalleled. There is a small supermarket and a buzzing bakery downstairs in the same building. The terrace is just wonderful with the ultimate view of the city walls, fort, and old harbour. The room is compact but has everything you need incl a decent shower, bar fridge and some crockery/utensils available from shared kitchen. Some tips: Kamenica restaurant very good. Nishka vegan restaurant very good. Lokanda at old port not so great. Pizza from Trocadero was bad. The hourly church bells can be loud during the night if you sleep with doors open. The ~90 minute climb from hotel to summit of Mt Srd is rewarding (take a hat, serious shoes and water – no shade for final 20-30 mins at the top). A highlight of our stay was Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra concert at Rector’s Palace. The tourist office next to Onofrio’s large fountain were the most helpful. If struggling to choosing between islands - go to Korcula – it’s gorgeous, peaceful, great food at amazing prices, with some lovely swimming spots. Finally, if missing your dog, give Luna the resident Labrador a hug (or maybe ask if you can take her for a loop around the old town??), and learn a word or 2 of Croatian so you can say good morning (and possibly more) to the lovely elderly lady living under the terrace.

also stayed in room 2 which opens onto a terrace that is awesome. Fantastic location right outside the Ploce gate. We forgot to ask for soap or shampoo and there was none in the room. Would definitely recommend to one and all for the perfect spot in Dubrovnik.
