We are just back from a stay at this hotel. We checked in at 2am on a Wednesday morning. There is no tea making facilities in the room and we asked could we get some milk as we had our own little travel kettle with us.The receptionist said this was not possible as the kitchen was closed-what kind of service is that for a 4 star hotel. We had requested 1 dbl and 1 triple room-it stated it on our booking and we had a copy of this. She said they would have to make up the extra bed as she could not see this request on screen. We had our booking in our hand but she was not interested in looking at it.We had also requested two rooms on the same floor-this request was also not honored. We went up to the room-room was two singles pushed together and a single camp bed-which was comfortable. We had a balcony with two chairs and a small table which was handy to dry clothes from the pool.Breakfast was okay-cooked breakfast was cold on many mornings, they offered pancakes with syrup and omelettes made to order.House keeping just walk into your room in the morning they do not even knock-very rude! they changed our towels and empty bins but they do not clean the room-bathroom wash basin etc.Pool was salt water, clean and there is a juice bar above which you can get a sandwich good prices. Restaurant Tavern is outside at the back and is good for pizzas but that is it.Chef can not cook anything-very bad quality food compared to other places around.Just a tip not relating to the hotel but there are no shops around the hotel and if you want a sun hat, beach towel or whatever make sure you bring them from home-they charge €20 for a hat that you can buy in penny's fro €3 at home.Hotel is expensive and food is not good.Good location for travelling but if you want buzz stay in OLD TOWN. There is no atmosphere in the hotel.

Room Tip: room 325 is an end room with a balcony

The hotel is well located in Lapad, close to the beach, restaurants and cafés/bars. There is a really nice walk along the coast - really pretty. You can get a bus (shortish ride) to the old city, best to try and go out of peak time as the buses can be very crowded. The beach is quite nice, pebble of course, so take reef shoes if you want to spend time soaking up the rays. It's worth paying for a lounge and umbrella - there is a really great taverna right on the beach (excellent fried squid and cold beer :)). The hotel has free wifi in the public areas but not in your room.

Room Tip: We had a sea view room - really recommend you opt for the sea view it's great to have the balcon...

I stayed at Grand Park Hotel 9th - 19th August 2014. The complex looked very impressive at first instance. I had a pool terrace room. The poolside bar was very good and staff very friendly.

On the negative sides:
1)The hotel is advertised as being near a sandy beach. This was the main reason for my hotel choice. The beach was very pebbly and horrid to walk on.
2)The hotel cleaners at times knocked early in the morning, but more often than not, simply unlocked the door and walked in..still whilst I was in bed. This was unbelievable.
3)The thing hat made me most upset was that the hotel was advertised as having nightly entertainment. This was not the case at all..false advertisement in my opinion. I had to use the Hotel Kompass instead.
4)The double room I booked consisted of two single beds pushed together...thus the two became separated whilst sleeping.

Not really a resort for solo travelers. Also WIFI was poor almost everywhere.

Room Tip: Make sure double bed is a proper double bed and not a twin pushed together!

We have just returned from a week at Grand Hotel Park. We had a family room on the 5th floor room 512 which had the most amazing view of the sea. A very large room with large bathroom. The location is perfect with a five minute walk down the beautiful beach. We don't usually go half board so expected to maybe miss a couple of evening meals to go out instead however the food was excellent, lots of variety each night and cooked well. We took a taxi into the old town (£7) which is well worth a visit. We found the Buza bar which is through a hole in the town walls onto the cliffs with beautiful views. Staff could not be more helpful and all extremely friendly. The indoor and outdoor pool both very clean. Lots of nice bars and restaurants five minutes walk from the hotel. We stayed in the main part of the hotel as there are two other buildings and would definitely recommend a room on 5th floor or above with a sea view. Perfect!

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors. Corner rooms with sea view. (512)

We stayed here for a friends wedding in July 2014. Expecting a hotel relative to the high cost we paid, we felt very let down. The hotel was tired, basic and far from a 4* hotel. The food was mediocre and there was no water or wine included in half board which I've never come across before. They have one pool with some space around it for loungers and longers on the patio next to the bar (up a few steps). If you weren't up at 7:30am putting towels on loungers then you'd never get one, they were clearly far short of loungers for the number of people staying at the hotel.
As with most european hotels, our 'double bed' was 2 twins put together, but unfortunately it left a big gap and coupled with 2 separate duvets, it made it impossible to treat it like a double bed.
Oh, and be warned, the maids just walk in without knocking! We had a number of friends staying at the hotel and we all found this to be a problem. Even with a 'do not disturb' sign on the door!
I wouldn't recommend this hotel to friends and know there are some better, more reasonably priced hotels in the area. Dubrovnik however, I would absolutely recommend, what a fantastic city!
Just steps from the hotel are some great bars and restaurants to visit and a short taxi ride in to dubrovnik city.

Returned a few days ago from The Grand Hotel Park and would recommend it. Staff were friendly and smiley (especially Marija in the restaurant) and very helpful. The location is perfect with good local bus links to the old town. We stayed half board for the first time ever and although I would prefer to eat out at restaurants in the evening the food choice was excellent and plentiful. Breakfast was also excellent with a great choice of everything you could wish for.

Other facilities are also very good, the pool is a god size and never seemed crowded, although I do agree the sun beds were a little on the uncomfortable side. The pool bar is very good and the pizzas are great.

Rooms are fine. Clean and large enough. We paid a little extra for a sea view and it was worth it. The coastline is beautiful.

I would also recommend a boat cruise to the Islands, we went with Elite Travel on the ship Tirena and also did a guided walk around the old city which was very interesting.

We did arrive at the hotel early and had to wait for our room to be made ready, but this is not a fault of the hotel, more of the tour operator and maybe the flight availability.

Would return to Croatia and to Dubrovnik and also happily to this hotel.

It was my girlfriends birthday while we were there and as a gesture there was a small bottle of fizz left in the room with two glasses. Nice thoughtful touch.

Room Tip: Sea view is nice, 4th floor and above give the best views.

The hotel is directly at Lapad Beach and the Promenade. This means about a 2 mile trip to the Old City (Stare Grad) of Dubrovnik, via cheap bus or €10 taxi. At first, I wanted to stay in the Old City, but they were all booked out.

Honestly I am happy about where I stayed. The promenade at night had at least three outdoor spots with live music. I was able to drink a Gin & Tonic on the beach, relaxing and enjoying the show. The Old City was nice but how many hours can you spend there?

My room had weak wifi at first, but, they changed my room and the wifi was great. The staff was excellent. I sent some clothes to the laundry (I was on a motorcycle through Croatia) but to save money, they pointed me to a very nice laundrette. Breakfast was great, one of the best I have had in a hotel. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, and I had a balcony. The pool is nice, the back has a play area for children, and there is secure, on-site parking.

I don't understand the negative reviews here, unless perhaps some rooms aren't quite as nice as others.
