“Interesting museum”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

An interesting collection of objects and clothing, which gives some insight into the culture and history of Croatia. However, there is a shortage of extra facts and information. It is a small museum, but enjoyable nonetheless.

“Fascinating building with somewhat interesting exhibits”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

Once you have bought your ticket for the Rector's palace this museum is included for the same price, the building is very interesting. There is an explanation of how the building was used as a granary but you have to search it out on the walls. If would be better if they explained how the building was used in the past more with signs to mark the chutes and holes. But the upstairs exhibit was worth seeing also and the walk to the museum was through a quiet part of old town that you might otherwise miss.

“Not the ethnographic museum it claims to be.”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

It is an impressive building which was an old granary. However nothing tells you anything about this part of its history. The entrance floor had a lot of photographs of bicycles in Denmark (!) That seemed just a way of filling space. The first and second floors has some rural artefacts and costumes. This was all elegantly displayed but with no real information on the lives of the people to whom these items belonged. It seemed that all the costumes were from a very narrow period in Croatian history (late 19th century) and showed strong Ottoman influence. There must have been other influences in history. I could believe someone said "We have these old costumes, what can we do with them" To which someone replied "Display them in an old building and call it an ethnographic museum".
It doesn't work.

“pushbikes from Amsterdam”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

First floor was pictures of pushbikes - not too sure why. Old clothes and stuff on the next two floors. Fairy clean toilet, and a great view from the window of the city. If bundled, worth a quick look round otherwise not worth an entrance fee.
