“Great tours...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

We did two day tours with amico, to Montenegro and then to Bosnia. We chose them on the basis of their good reviews and we weren't disappointed. We booked via email from the uk and the office staff (Maja) was exceptionally helpful with faultless English. Our guides/drivers on the two days (Gabriel and Zoran) were both friendly, knowledgable and professional. The 'small group' format really works - it's feels a lot less like a route march and a lot more like a grand day out.

The mini bus seated eight ( on both days we were full) but had aircon and was reasonably comfortable.

I personally liked the free time we had at our stops, the guides were there if we needed them but were also happy to let us wander off with a map and do our own thing.

These tours represent really good value, you couldn't cover the ground we did on public transport in the same time. They are long days but well worth it.

I would recommend Amico.

“Excellent and informative”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013 via mobile

We took the day trip to Montenegro and it was well worth the price (350 kuna per person). Our guide, Ivana, was wonderful. I learned so much about Croatian and Montenegrin history from the talk she gave, and she made the long bus ride go much more quickly. She also had a bunch of tips and information about restaurants and sights to see in Dubrovnik, which was too bad as we were leaving town the next day!

Kotor and Budva were both pretty, although the weather wasn't awesome so things weren't looking as 'scenic' as they might otherwise. The tour included a thirty minute guided walk through the old city of Kotor and Budva, which was appreciated, but we also got a decent amount of free time in each place.

We were gone from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm so we were exhausted when we got back but it was worth it. Ivana was working the entire time--even talking and explaining things to us at the very end, I was impressed she still had the energy to do so!

You pay a little more for this trip but the bus was comfortable, we had a friendly and capable driver, and the guide was top-notch.

“Trips to Montenegro and Bosnia.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

We undertook two trips through Amico travels via our hotel reception. The costs for the Montenegrin trips were 350 kn/head and for the Mostar trip was 390kn/head. There seems to be a lot of similar trips advertised at about 100 kn cheaper outside the hotel. But we decided to stick with Amico despite being more expensive.

We enjoyed both our trips. Travel was by a mini van with a small group which makes crossing borders much quicker than when you are on large buses. Both our guides were informative. We had Tom for the Montenegrin trip and Gabrielo on the Mostar trip. Unlike many other conducted tours I have taken there were no commercial stops!

“Mljet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013 via mobile

We took the tour to Mljet , and it was absolutely fantastic. They pick you up in your hotel, then the ferry to the island, the you visit the Benedict monastery, and then you have two hour to swim in the most beautiful lake. Ana, the tour guide gave us great tips about we're are the best places and we took a small rook just for the two of us, very romantic and relaxing. The group was small and very nice. The lunch is ok, but you have to take some food because is late and you get hungry before.

“Great day out, rafting in Montenegro.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013 via mobile

My partner and I found Amico tours in Dubrovnik, Old Town. They were organising a rafting trip to Montenegro, Tara river the following day and we decided to go along. The trip cost 690 Kuna each (€92). The lady in the office was very informative and helpful and spoke English well. They picked us up at our hotel the next morning at 7am and drove us together with another 5 people to Montenegro. The trip took about 4 hours, driving through breathtaking scienery. The driver spoke English well. Once there, we were given breakfast. After breakfast, thet gave us swimsuits and all the neccessary gear and drove us another 18 km on a 4x4 through dangerous terrane to our starting point. Where they handed us over to our skipper. The skipper spoke two words in English: stop and go!!! Showing us what those two words meant, concluded our safety instructions. The trip down the river took about 2.5 hours including two 15 minute breaks. Scienery was breathtaking, the river a bit lazy. It was my first time rafting and eventhough i enjoyed it lot, i kind of wanted it to be a bit more adrenalin pumping and dangerous. There were a few cool spots but nothing oh-my-god-i'm-gonna-die-exciting. After rafting, we were treated to some really delicious dinner, local spirits and paid for our wine or beer. We arrived back in Dubrovnik at 830pm.
Verdict: it's worth every penny, great experience but they should sort out a gide who speaks English and is able to tell you interesting things about the place, the river and the local culture or history and not just expertly stir the boat down the river, smoking away in the back and only saying stop and go. River speed on a scale of 1 to 6 was 4, or so we were told, but if i ever do this again, i definitely want 5 or 6 to make it an unforgetable experience. For me, this river was lazy.

All the staff of Amico tours is appreciative of your recommendation. Regarding our tour guide in the river Tara rafting tour, we are sorry that he didn't provide you with more information to make the experience hall.
The river of Tara is unpredictable as any part of the nature so we hope that your next rafting tour gets you the fast rushing river.

Thank you for choosing Amico tours.

Kind regards.
