Great standard of food and service.
Funnily enough I titled this review before realising that a previous contributor had used the same title. Sums it up really - this place is tucked away and relies on its food rather than the Main Street hawkers who try and whisk you away to establishments that are perhaps a little less refined.

Worth seeking out, this restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. Great atmosphere, service and food. The house red wine was nothing special though!

We sought out this restaurant on the basis of other reviews on this site and weren't disappointed. It was a particularly chilly evening and all the indoor tables were taken, however, we were persuaded to sit outside and heaters were switched on and blankets provided. As the restaurant is tucked away in a corner this proved to be a good move as it was nice and cozy and before long other diners had joined us.
We shared the Dalmation platter to start with, I had Rib eye steak, which was a much thinner cut of meat to what we are used to at home, but delicious, hubby had some kind of fish, I can't remember what, but he said it was delicious. We were too full for dessert, so can't comment on the choices available. The meal together with a couple of glasses of local wine was around 60 kuna, not the cheapest, but great quality and service with a smile

Rozario is situated in one of Dubrovnik's little side streets. On previous days we had passed by and it was always busy. It had a lovely atmosphere with outdoor seating on the narrow street and nice lighting.

The menu had a good selection of dishes from hot & cold starters, to meat, fish and vegetarian main courses. Once you have seen 1 menu in Dubrovnik, you've seen them all, but Rozario was different from all the others and seem to have different dishes to offer. Also cheaper than some of the places on the main street/square.

Once we had ordered drinks and food, the waiter came out with a small appetiser which was a bruschetta with balsamic vinegar. Simple but nice.

As a starter we ordered an octopus salad to share which also came with a basket of bread. The salad dressing was lovely and perfectly seasoned. Glad we only got 1 to share because it was a big portion.

For main course I had pork medallions with homemade gnocchi in a truffle sauce. The pork was really juicy and tender, the gnocchi was the best i had ever tasted and the sauce was subtle and complemented the meat and gnocchi perfectly. My wife had grilled squid with a kind of mash potato and spinach. The squid was also juicy, tender and full of flavour (first time i've had squid that isn't chewy) and the potatoes went well with it.

For dessert we had a Dubrovnik style creme-caramel which had rose liqueur in it. It was perfectly done and full of flavour. We then had a coffee and the waiter offered us a hazelnut liqueur, which we had and was perfect to finish off our lovely meal.

Through out the meal our waiter was excellent. He was very observant and was always there at the right time to order drinks, top up our glasses, and clear plates. I also liked, that when he brought our dishes to the table, he explained what was on the plate. It was a nice touch.

When the bill came we were expecting to be charged for the appetisers, the basket of bread and the hazelnut liqueur but to our surprise we hadn't. Not sure if this usually happens or if the waiter was just being nice to us.

If you are in Dubrovnik then you must go to Rozario. You will not be dissapointed.

Excellent food, decent wine, friendly services. I had the pork medallions with gnocchi in tartuffo. Very good. When you get to the end of the main walking street look to the left and up the first little alleyway before the exit to the gate. Worth finding.
