This is not the cheapest restaurant in Dubrovnik, & it's not local to the Old Town, overlooking the new harbour at Gruz, but it is definately worth the effort to find. The restaurant is only small, accomodating maybe 20 to 25 diners, however this helps to make the atmosphere, but it is probably advisable to try & make a reservation.
The staff are friendly & efficient, & the food is of good quality & different, & just as important, at about the right portion sizes. We didn't walk away feeling we could have ate more.
Everybody recommends the onion soup as a starter, & it is very good. There are about 6 main courses to choose from, & the chicken with humus & tuna we chose were excellent. The chocolate fondant was superb, so my wife tells me.
A 3 course meal runs at between 20 & 25 Euros.
