“Lovely villa with fantastic views.”
Reviewed July 24, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We had a fantastic weeks holiday staying at the villa. The villa was well equipped and had everything a family of four could require including wifi for two teenage daughters!!!!! What really made the difference for us was Stijepo, the son of the owners, who was tremendously helpful from start to finish. From the original booking with helpful emails to meeting us at the airport and helping us to the villa and guiding us with the local amenities. Stijepo's mum had produced some homemade cakes and quince for our arrival which was a lovely touch.
The villa is in a lovely location up the side of a mountain and the views from the balcony are exactly as the pictures portray on the advert. Lovely quiet location off the beaten track so a car is essential. Located next to a small church you do have the bells to contend with three times a day. The first at 6:00 am is a bit of a nuisance but the midday and 7:00pm are fine.
Stijepo helped us organise some day trips with his local knowledge and we met the rest of his family who were so kind and hospitable .
Overall, if you want somewhere off the beaten track which is quiet but gives you a real flavour of Croatia I could not recommend this Villa more.

“Wonderful views in quiet peaceful setting”
Reviewed June 6, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

All communications with Stijepo, our contact for booking, were very straightforward, replies were always swift and useful. He met us at the airport as planned and led us to a supermarket to buy essentials and then on to the villa in its village setting.Stijepo showed us around the villa and gave advice on things to do in the area and left us with a plate of very nice cake and quince jelly, prepared by his mother.
We were 5 adults, the villa had ample space (although the lounge is smaller than it looks in the photos) with areas to dine inside and outside. We ate breakfasts al fresco but inside if we cooked in the evening as it was a little cool after sunset but this was fairly early season. The wood fired bar b que worked well.
The villa is a little out of the way ( a car is essential) but it makes up for this with it's great mountain and valley views and the peace and quiet, just the tinkling of cow bells, braying of a donkey, cockerel crowing, birds singing etc.Ok, the bells from next door's church do ring at 6a.m. but it all added to the atmosphere and we soon got used to it!
I would definitely recommend this villa and the whole area to anyone who likes to be immersed in the real life charms of Croatia.

“Fantastic week”

A great place to stay - fantastic views from the terrace, great swimming pool and terrace area for relaxing.

Only a short car ride from the airport and easy to find - we were met and guided there by Stijepo who then took the time to show us all of the villa and explained local attractions etc which was really useful. ( and with cake and fantastic quince jelly as well!)

We had great fun firing up the outside oven / BBQ with wood - chicken and fish tasted great grilled over a real wood fire!

Having Wifi was great - useful to look things up!
We really enjoyed activities like the folk dancing in Cilipi, sea kayaking around Cavtat, a day trip to Kotor (Montenegro) and of course a water taxi trip and day in Dubrovnik. We also walked to Sokol Grad one day - only about a km away.
Some lovely places to eat in Cavtat - the best by far was Bugenvila on the harbour front. A wonderful birthday meal out with impeccable service as well.
Would really recommend the villa - may not be the most modem inside but the views and friendliness of the owners are fantastic.
A final word for the stall holder by Sokol Grad - he had a wave for us every day as we drove past and when we stopped to buy something he (and his family) were so friendly.

“Wonderful Holiday”

If you are wanting a fantastic holiday in a beautiful rural setting then look no further..... Villa Urlovic is for you. Booking was the easiest we have experienced thanks to Stijepo's prompt response to all requests. He also met us at the airport with cakes and quince jelly and introduced us to the house and area. The Villa is in an amazing setting overlooking the village and is equipped more like a home than the usual holiday let .Roads empty of traffic enable easy access to the surrounding area with plenty of walks and beaches, Do visit the icecream man at Sokol Grad just down the road. He is an interesting character and very helpful, as was everyone we met. Sitting on the terrace with the barbecue fired up with g and t's in hand watching village life unfold before us was just one of the highlights of a great holiday.

“What a wonderful villa - wonderful village, fabulous views.”

We had a wonderful time, Stijepo's mum made us some lovely cakes and Jelly when we arrived, his dad brought us some figs mid week! They can't have looked after us any better. We have stayed in lots of villa's in lots of different countries, and we think that the view/location of this one is by far and away the best that we've been in - mountains on 3 sides, sea view and a valley, goats and cows (with the little bells on) being brought down from the mountain in the early evening. Also a very well equipped kitchen.
We had our two boys with us (age 8 and 13) on our first night there was a call from some of the local children - "do you play football?" and with that our boys were playing with the local boys and girls (similar ages) every evening. Perfect for us as they were occupied every evening and we got to enjoy a nice quiet glass of wine or two watching the fabulous sunset.
Stijepo gave us some good tips on where to go - listen to him, he knows what he's talking about - he did offer to give us a parking space if we went to Cavtat, we didn't take him up on this offer and I wish that we had done - parking in the town was a nightmare! Recommend the fishing village too.

“Beautiful area, very attentive hosts”

An excellent first experience of Croatia from start to finish. Stijepo was very quick to reply to any correspondence before arriving and met us at the airport to show us to the local supermarket and the villa itself. It is in a remote area so car hire is essential to get to shops, cafes and restaurants - the nearest are about a 15 minute drive away down a quiet mountain road. Stijepo took some time to take us through the villa and some of the sights in the local area. All of his recommendations were excellent. The villa was well equipped and comfortable. The wood-fired barbecue is worth trying, so that you can enjoy an alfresco meal in beautiful surroundings. A lovely quiet place to relax away from it all but close enough to Cavtat and Dubrovnik to satisfy any tourist.

“Peaceful, beautiful countryside.”

The accommodation is very good, everything you need is available. The villa itself is spacious and clean and well equipped. The pool is small, but clean and just what you need after a day exploring. Stijepo was more than helpful, meeting us at the airport, ensuring we got to the villa, and he came with treats, too! Do have a go with the barbeque, its worth it. Very enjoyable overall.
