“Worth a visit”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2013

If you get the cable car up to the top then it is worth visiting this museum whilst you are there. It is about £4 to get in but very interesting.

“Helps you understand what they went through”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2013

We spent almost an hour here going around the posters and photographs of the 2 year period around the war. The highlight for us was the excellent ITN reporting which is played on a TV in one of the rooms - don't miss this. Quite a few of the posters show pictures but all the writing is in Croatian , however there are sufficient with English to obtain a real feeling of what the people in Dubrovnik and surrounding countryside went through in the early 1990's.

“Not the best museum but worth the trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2013

There's a very homemade quality to this museum, and it has a very one-sided view of history. However, it pretty thoroughly shows the utter devastation of Dubrovnik in this war, and for that it is very worth the trip. Take the cable car to the top of the mountain, and then go to the left.

“Museum to a Sad Part of Human History”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2013

This museum is a must for those trying to understand the very sad period in 1991-1995 during which Dubrovnik and Croatia suffered so much. As other reviewers have pointed out, it is one-sided with a great deal of concentration on the heroics of the Croatian people and the terrible devastation wreaked on Dubrovnik and its surrounds. The narrative parts of the story, which is covered for the most part by picture and map panels, appear to be very complete (the whole affair is very difficult to comprehend without greater study). If you want to see the tools of war you will be disappointed as there are only a few weapons and artifacts. Nevertheless, this museum should be seen if you are trying to understand this very, very sad part of human history.

“Very moving exhibition.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2013

This was a small museum showing the victims of the Homelands war in 1991. It was tremendously moving to see the faces of all the young men who died. It must have been terrifying to experience the mortars falling on the city, but what a great job has been done to rebuild it. Well worth a visit.
