“Not worth the price”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

Vapor restaurant was pretty much in line with the rest of the hotel: wonderful views, excellent location, but very poor execution. The ingredients used in the food are pretty good, I must say so. But, the chef should definitely improve the execution if the restaurant wants to be worth of the 75 euros per person we payed.

We started with two oysters, which were delicious. No secret to fresh oysters. But, I have to say the quality was excellent. We then had scampi with avocado, and St. Jacques (scallops), and that is where things started going downhill. The scampi was good, but the avocado that went with it was nothing but a rather simple guacamole. The scallops were not very tasty, probably because they were overcooked. Then came our main dishes: lobster, and John Dory fillet. The lobster dish was pretty much a joke (a joke that costs 30 euros). It was a very small lobster, with no claws (what ever happened to the claws?), buried in a ton of tasteless black pasta. Really, if the pasta would at least have been any good... The John Dory fillet was excellent, but disgraced by a really bad risotto. I like risotto, but this one I could only have a couple of bites before (literally) starting to feel sick. What a pity. I did finish the excellent fish though.

We had a chocolate souffle for dessert. It was pretty good. The best of our meal, according to my wife.

Overall, a pretty disappointing experience for the 150 euros we paid. Not even the views could make up for the unfortunate culinary experience.

“Perfect evening”

The food was delicious, and the service excellent. Main, dessert and a bottle of domestic vine ended at less than 900 kruna for the two of us. It was well worth the money!

“Fantastic”
Reviewed July 13, 2013 via mobile

We stayed at the hotel and ate here on the last night which was a pity as the quality and service far exceeded anywhere else we had eaten including some of the more expensive restaurants in the old town. The menu was innovative and all dishes beautifully presented. Price was no more expensive than the quality restaurants in the old town. Great view too. Staff were very attentive without being intrusive. Overall a fantastic experience.

This Rastaurant , located in Bell View Hotel is outstanding. Breathtaking view from restaurant terrace. Linen and cutlery are first class. The chef is really TOP. Every dish is out of the ordinary. Highly recommended.

“Great food with an excellent view”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

The above says it all.
The restaurant (and hotel) has a greAt view and the food is really good. The service was ok, like everywhere in Croatia the personnel is very friendly and helpful. I do have a problem however with prices, they pverprice their champagnes and wines, as an example, to celebrate our first night we wanted to order a bottle of Dom Perignon ... Until we found out it was priced at 6000 Kuna (everywhere else is around 3000 Kuna). Too bad but we still had a great time without the Dom Perignon :)
