We arrived in Dubrovnik in the mid-afternoon, and after checking into our hotel decided to get an overview of the old city before touring the next day. From below it doesn't look that high--but I found the narrow road with its many switchbacks a bit terrifying with the sheer drop. Although I arrived with white knuckles the incredible vistas on top of the mountain and the terrace restaurant perched above the old city made it worthwhile. The historic fort with its museum and tribute to those who defended Dubrovnik in the war of independence was interesting and moving, but will remember always are the incredible views into three adjoining countries and the beautiful Adriatic. Don't miss this one.
