Owner description: Visia Dubrovnik Multimedia Museum takes you on an exciting 3D journey through the history of Dubrovnik. You will experience the charms of the Linđo dance and poetry in the introduction entitled "The Liberty Hymn".Total the most interesting facts from the history of Dubrovnik are pointed in a 3D movie. But don't be scared while seats shake during the earthquake in 1667. or while wind blows during the naval battles. The museum presentations are accessible to everyone and guests can watch the show in one of the 9 languages going on simultaneously – Croatian, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Russian and Japanese.

“Good for a rainy day”
Reviewed October 14, 2011

Slightly expensive way to spend an afternoon. 5D claim is over the top as the museum makes use of 3D plus some other nice effects. Nonetheless an interesting enough afternoon if you want to learn a little more about the locals and their history and a pleasant enough introduction to the town. Ideal for rainy or even very hot days.

“Not Worth the Money”
Reviewed July 15, 2011

We went to this show because it was raining outside and we wanted to learn more about the history of Dubrovnik. Unfortunately, it was overpriced, lacked substance, and was all-in-all, rather cheesy. I did learn a little about Croatian history, but I wouldn't recommend the show to anyone else.

“Superficial, glib and boring”
Reviewed June 27, 2011

We got free tickets for this as a result of booking some tours. Thank god we didn't pay money to see this superficial, dull piece of Nationalistic claptrap. The music sounds like it was written by a eurovision reject. The animation and acting in it is awful, all fake beards and bad stereotyping of Muslims and Serbs. The history is glib and superficial, the 20th century glossed over-not a mention of Croat involvement in WW2-just glorious nationalist claptrap. When history is portrayed simply as goodies and baddies with some mediocre visuals and 3D thrown in, it serves no real purpose
other than as a crude nationalistic vehicle I've no axe to grind with
anyone in these parts, I'm Irish, but
this is truly awful. If you can't
provide a more balanced history
than this in 30 minutes.....Don't
bother.....Avoid!

Dear Kilser,
Thank you very much for your review and feedback.
It is my understanding that you did not get the purpose of the programe. The whole purpose of the 3D show is to introduce visitors with the most important facts and events in the rich history of Dubrovnik.

If interested in an accurate portrait of Dubrovnik's position during the Ottoman conquest of Europe and internal turmoils during WWII in Dubrovnik, I strongly recomend "Dubrovnik: A History" written by Robin Harris.

I hope you have enjoyed your stay in Dubrovnik.

Best regards,
Denis

“An excellent entertainer if you have spare time.”
Reviewed May 18, 2011

Overall I think this is definitely something to do in Dubrovnik if the weather is poor or if you have seen the most important sights and have a half hour to spare. It is very different to what I expected and displays some very unusual effects using water and lighting. The music may go for slightly too long but the 5d history movie is an excellent way to get a basic idea of the different periods in time across in the most engaging, visual way. It does not ho into a lot of detail but it I'd only 30 min. Two hours of history is probably not so engaging. Very glad I discovered this little gem.
